There are a lot of different varieties of poppies.

Even if they were opium poppy seeds, being baked in the oven would kill the seed off rendering it basically a sterile seed that can not grow.

my grandma used to grow them from Mcormicks a good percentage survive the sterilization process... the black seeds come only from the opium poppy... i'm trying to find growing info right now thats how i ran across this post lol

I looked for info a while back as well, with not a whole lot of luck. At least anything like this forum provides for MJ. But on a side note, just to let you know, it is not legally required that they are sterylized and you can order unsterylized "culinary" opium poppys, just not supposed to grow them. I have like 6 different types i had ordered but then once i read the harvesting process and how much you need to grow for any decent amount for personal use so i scraped it.

she just grew them for the flower, she could cared less about the drug... i'm just f++kiing around in the backyard... just quelling some curiosity ya know.

you can grow them but its illegal when you scrap them.
