mCormick poppy seeds will grow and produce the plant, it is legal to grow them but as soon as you score the actual flow ball part whatever it is so the opium flows out it becomes illegal. not to mention they are INCREDIBLY hard to grow, out of a batch of about 300 i had like 15 actually grow >.>

For 1 I am the one who opened this sites eyes to the whole McCorrmick poppy seed spice idea, and second Papaver somniferum all parts of the plant, leaves, roots, flowers, and pods are illegal to posses and highly illegal to cultivate, no matter what your purpose is. LIKE WEED, BUT WORSE!. The only thing legal in the states are the seeds for culinary purposes. Do some research people before you grow shit in your front yard, they can take your home if they want.:peace:

why can you purchase dried poppies on the internet and at flower shops if you say it is illegal? i purchased on the internet and made tea it was equal to 60 milligrams of oxycodone lots of codeine and morphine alkaloids i would not bother with seeds the pods come full of seeds anyways.:peace:

there are different types of poppies, only one type of poppy makes the opium.... that is the illegal one, all other are ok.... do some reasearch... look up actual laws in your state.

They are illegal in the U.S. I order heirloom tomato seeds from a company in the U.S. that sells them. I still would not buy them, not worth the risk to me.

i see papaver.s species dried for sale in flower shops. to support a habit you would have to grow a field i dont think this is a concern of the dea since to manufacture any worthwhile amount would be impractical. they are a pain to grow anyways. sun dried poppies.com:peace:
