Currently my plants are at the fifth node I have taken one sativa and talked it out the second node it has been doing tremendously well but since the subject is so controversial I would like an opinion about my other three Indica The spacing between nodes is 2/3 of an inch if that maybe even a half inch so any opinions on where to cut these are my first Indica I’m topping I’ll post pictures for a reply because no one replies on here anymore

Are you asking about which node to start topping at?

The best way for me was to experiment. I did some topping and some fimming my first grow, then mainlining, and now I'm throwing supercropping in the mix. I now do a combination of them depending on how they look and how much time I plan on growing them. There are lots of opinions on this subject.

I just want to know what node does what everybody has such mixed ideas on where and what node produces four colas or 2 and When to cut it I cut the second node on one bc I’m tryin to keep it short and dense but I’m open to ideas and I’ll post pics below

That’s been my issue I’m posting some pictures take a look at the first one I topped And tell me if you think it’s going to stay short also I’m trying to decipher what to do with the other two because they’re growing more compact and I don’t know if that would be bad for the plant because each plant is different

I top them at the first point past the first set of true leaves. Even if they’re 3 fingered. I top 3 times and supercrop and start it early.

Can you send a pic if you got one bc I like the Idea of starting early So my girl is far away from stress during flowering

I don’t have any starts at the moment.

Excuse the light. There’s a flowering plant topped at the second node. In the second week of flower. It’s topped again at the first nodes on the two branches. No waiting. Then a third time again right at the first node on those branches. Any more topping and you end up with a bucket of popcorn or mids at best.

Thank you I’m probably going with topping 2 times and after recovery she’ll go in to 12/12 I’m running 24 right now and it’s been a hell of a lot smoother than 18/6 bc any down time my girls have or stress they pick back up in hours where as during 18/6 I’d be stressing the sleep but thanks for the advice i appreciate it. I’ll stay posted on your finish too.

But 18/6 gives them time to rest, I did the 24 on my first grow but on second grow with 18/6 the recovery time for training was much faster

I think it’s such a wide opinionated subject that has its good and bad I noticed with 18 six yes recovery time was faster on certain things but getting out of shock is faster on 24 and if you transplant and screw up roots that grow back faster on 24 what I like better between the two is on 24 hour it’s such a drastic switch that when you go to 1212 the plant recognizes it easier and flowers sooner but like I said either way has its good and bad

I don't really have a set way since I use clones a lot and they don't grow uniformly. Sometimes I leave 2 main stalks, sometimes 3, sometimes 4, then top them again another time or 2 so I end up with at least 8 main colas. It really depends how the plants looks to me. It's hard to screw it up too bad. Here a few pics of one of the plants I topped.
This is after the first topping.

Later. It's the one on the left. The middle 2 haven't been topped yet.

Not all equal heights, but I tie them down as they grow to make them as uniform as I can.

It really is like art. It's my personal creation, haha. There are so many ways you can train these things, it's crazy, but I like to keep it as simple as possible.
OK if your plant was here would you let it grow a little more and clone off of it or to get the fastest grow would you top now? Personally I want to take it at the second node and try for a clone but the downtime on her is about a week and I’m looking to harvest in 80days

If it's was me, and I wanted to take a clone off her, I would give it a little longer before I topped it. I usually clone my tops too. All those plants in there except the front middle one, were clippings that I just popped straight into those 15 gal and 3 pots with a homemade humidity dome over it. I thought I would try it, and was really impressed how well it worked. The other one is a Pineapple Express from seed.

Well thank you I appreciate all your time. If you don’t mind me asking where are you growing?
