Really interesting. You'd run this with a couple of 1000s in a vertical cooltube up the middle. Light goes straight from lamp to plant, no reflector bounce. I like it.

However, it looks like it could be hard to work in. Far too exxy. Could be DIYed a lot cheaper.

I agree with Al, this thing is cool but waaaaay over priced. Easily built for a couple hundred dollars in PVC tubing, white coroplast for outside walls and the money spent on a nice pump and some lights.

Im not sure how the double bulb simple cool tube works with getting cords out of the tubing but Im sure it cant be that hard.

Drip style irrigation would be easiest and if the rings of the planters had a modest 2* drop from one side to the other, all the water could run back down collection tubes and back into the res.

Id never pay 5 G's for something like this when you could build it in a solid weekend of work.

You bet, I think there's a weekend and a couple-3 hundred bucks in duping up a copy.

It'd be tight to work in, drippers need cleaned often, so I thought NFT might be easier. I was thinking it could be framed up as an octagonal tower, half hinged and fitted with casters to make it open easily, wrapped with panda film, 100-150mm PVC drain pipes for NFT channels, 8x 45 deg elbows per level.

There's a 150mm x 800mm cooltube in my hydro wholesaler's catalogue, under $100, suits 2x 1000, sockets are on either end of the tube, power wiring passes through the aluminium collars on the ends of the glass.

Obviously its DIY'able, I was just wondering how it may work.

I'm completely new to Hydro, and at my local store that had something similar to that with a smaller price tag and two opening doors, harvest every 3 weeks they said..

is that true? Is that the difference in hydro compared to soil?

No, cannabis takes at least 8 weeks to flower by any growing means.

If you stagger feeding clones into a continuous flowering area, you can get a harvest every 2 weeks if you like. I'm sure that's what your hydro shop had in mind- nothing will take a plant from veg to bud in 3wks.
