This is my third grow. My first grow turned out even though the yield was small. My second was a male plant and was cut short. Im starting my next grow now. Due to size constrictions I only grow 1 plant at a time. For lighting I have Two four foot 40w flourecent tubes, 1-27w cfl and 1-42w cfl. Will this be sufficent for 1 decent plant?

If i was you, depending on head height, i would stick in a 125w or 2 of cool lamps. The only downside to this kind of lighting opposed to HPS is that your flowering will take much longer, usually 4 weeks longer than what it says on the pack. There is a post on this site somewhere with a chap who has filled a little room with cfl's and it turned out well.

Cool Thanks for the info ill check that out!

I think that is enough for veg but you want more for flower, moving to mostly 2700k in flower. Remember you have to keep cfls like 2 in from the foliage.

that's enough wattage, about 150w, so it really comes down to position, get 'em as tight to the plant as you can
and make use of reflector(s), real cheap if you make them yourself

how much longer does it take to flower, with CFL compare to HPS

i have a recent example, just 1 so make of it as you will
flowered a nl#5 under cfl's, the breeder quotes 8 weeks under HPS, took mine to 11 weeks based on the trichomes, very good result for potency
so by my limited result, add 3 weeks
