getting my grow closet set up and heat is outa controll ! my thermometer only goes to 80 (its a royal pos in the process of getting my digital) and its past pegged so im guessing in the 90s plus the air just feels HOT lol i live in a trailer like a 5th wheel gheto trailer its not an option to cut through the walls but i can run a duct to the bathroom and leave the roof vent open and intake cool air from there but i only have room for one duct so is intake of cool air more important than exausting the hot air ? can i just make a hole on the oposite side for the presure caused by the intake of cold to force out the hot air any setup or hole location recomendations im trying to get away with one inline fan if possible please help this is the only thing holding me up well that and waiting for my seeds haha:blsmoke:

yea i think/have been told its easier to push the hot air out. actually had a heat prblm myself this year and im repeating myself a lot, but ill let you in on the secrete-a stanley blower mod. go to walmart pick up a a stanley blower/ lasko fan. Mount a rectangle piece of duct around and seal with great stuff expanding foam. It dropped my temps around 8-10 degrees and it pulls so mush air it passively pulls in air from intake inc your cooling and taking stress off your intake

pic of the stanley mod, lasko is a walmart brand and is the same if u cant find the stanley--whole conversion=55$

dude.. holy shit thank you.. i already have this fan and i woulda never thought about doing this! jesus i am gonna have this for my cooltube exhaust.. this should have no problem sucking through a DIY carbon scrubber as my fan blows crazy! if i may ask tho how do you have it setup in your garden?

no problem man it works wonders for me hope it does for you too. I have the unit in my room mounted on the wall, its connected to my 600w hps cooltube (like yours) with some ducking and exits outside. No fucking joke man once u hook this up your tube temp will mediately drop (i can almost touch the glass if i wanted too, but no radiated heat). hope it works out well let me know

Remember, suck > blow when it comes to fans. If smell is an issue you can make a small filter for $20 all from Home Depot and attach it right before your fan.

I use this stuff called great stuff, its an expandable sealant that they use to fill in insulation gaps and stuff. its like 4$ at homedepo or some thing and a bit of the foil tape helps too

you should be exhausting if you only have one option for sure. its way more effective. you can just use a passive intake, lots of people do this. lots of people do not do it the other way around that your talking about. exhaust is more important than intake. read around if you dont believe me.

ok and im guessing homedepot should have the rectangle duct piece right? (idk what its called lol) and i do have intake its a 250 CFM In-Line Duct Fanand its pushing air in from another room but this isnt cooling the lights just giving the plants fresh air. my exhaust is going to be my stanley shop fan sucking air through my DIY scrubber, through the cooltube and out of the room. so basically its this..

garden air ---> Carbon Scrubber ---> Cooltube ---> Ducting ---> outside the garden.

so basically im using it as a room exhaust and to cool the lights.. do you think this will be ok. i keep the temps in the house around 72 in the summer so im hoping ill be able keep the temps down but this stanley shop fan is so crazy! if i set it up on 2 (Med) i should be able more than needed airflow + the temps should be about 75-78 after being sucked out.. atleast im hoping!!! *fingers crossed* but in the mean while

ill take out my bongsmilie ...

so that would work if yo connect to hps600 and then just have that fan sucking in the same air in the room?

jus a quick question. so this could pull from a canned carbon filter ? like the ones sold on ebay? hooking it up to the intake.
yes im pretty sure you will have no problems at all sucking through a Carbon filter. as stated by the genies himself...vvv
its quiet as a mouse, doesnt make a noise even when on high. 3 levels and it pushes all day long, good built and durability. supposidly the cfm rating is 1280low, 1746 med and 2181 high. sounds a bit factory fabricated/not real cfms, but it has massive power ill post a pic soon
i have mine on low and i put my hand over the intake for the fan and i feel it sucking so much air. i would get it. you have to mod it out,, but hey thats just more fun for you! lol good luck
