opening jar's when cureing

hey i was just wondering if it is best to keep the jars closed when curing?...of course after the 3 or 4 sessions of burping the jars.

atleast 1 month of routinly burping off the excess moisture, then after that store them in a cool/cold dark place.

I say a couple of weeks of burping, but it depends how wet/dry the buds are.
