Well, the bud rot is starting to rear its ugly head. Found a bunch this morning and with a forecast of 95-100% RH for the next week, I don’t expect it to get any better. On top of that it looks like Lee will be showing up this weekend. Gotta look at the bright side…less trimming, right? I’m a glass half full kinda guy.

I'm sorry to hear about the bad weather. That won't help. Glad you're keeping a positive attitude (me, not so much >:().

I've got it as well, and three weeks earlier than last year. We need to be vigilant and inspect every inch from here to harvest. Keep the hydrogen peroxide spray bottle and scissors handy. Maybe we can save most of it.

I also had mites, but the GrowSafe appears to have knocked them down enough to avoid spraying again until harvest.

I'm starting to see a few spots of botrytis here and there, too. It couldn't get any more humid here--currently fog and drizzle with rain forecast for tomorrow, then all hell may break loose when Lee arrives this weekend.

Got the Northern Lights and Pine Tar Kush in the shed for now with the door open--but they don't get a lot of light that way. Maybe I should rig up my LEDs that I use for seedlings in the springtime.

Based on how wet things were this summer I had a bad feeling about this fall.

Interestingly the Cherry Wine hemp (18 in the ground) is holding up fine--only found 1 small spot so far. Mold-resistant genetics and good airflow definitely helps. But these conditions are truly awful.

Sorry to hear about the bud rot, and the high humidity.

Was the bud rot from caterpillars or PM? What ratio do you mix the hydrogen Peroxide? I'm in Michigan and high humidity and rain is common. I want to be prepared! Todays current weather is 60 degrees and 83% humidity haha.

The bud rot I see is botrytis, loves cool humid conditions and can start inside the flower where you don't see it right away. Look for brown spots or wilted brown leaves coming out of the buds. I just use the standard hydrogen peroxide solution you get at Walgreens, which I believe is 3%. Spray the rotten area, cut it out, bag and seal it up, then put it in the trash (not the compost or anywhere else on your property).

Cool, I use Flying Skull Nukem as part of my weekly PM but the shit is expensive. I did not have any powdery mildew last season but I did have to cut out a few buds from rot.

The 3% you use straight up no diluting?

Use it straight. I've never had to deal with PM (knock on wood!) but I've read that spraying potassium bicarbonate solution will keep it at bay (makes the pH more alkaline). Don't confuse that with baking soda--which is sodium bicarbonate.

I have a 1 quart spray bottle I bought on Amazon for $3.00. I pour in two 1 pint bottles of 3% HP I buy at CVS for $1.25 per bottle. I used to surgically remove only the rot and close margins, then spray the area, in an attempt to sace the bud. Futile. Now I whack the whole bud at the stem.

I’d trade botrytis for mites any day, honestly.

You are misinterpreting my sarcasm as a positive attitude. Lol. I’m pissed but used to it…same shit every year but it’s getting old. Having to constantly inspect the plants and keep cutting yield away…ugh…such a kick in the nuts. Here’s a pic of my two new friends who I will get to know well over the next month…

Got a bit of a late start this year and didn't get a clone until mid-June which is about a month later than I typically put clones out- it's doing pretty well though. I also used a smaller pot this year, 7gal. instead of my usual 15gal.
I'm feeding NFTG nutrients as usual at the following ratios:
1tbs. "Medusa's Magic"
2tsp. "Gaia Mania"
1Tbs. "Herculean Harvest" (liquid bone meal) which I'll increase to 2Tbs. in a couple of weeks
40 drops Olympus Up in 1gal. of tap water for a pH of 6.4, fed every day

I think I may have to chop early or I'm going to lose everything. I found it in two of my main colas today. It's spreading fast. AHHHHH!!! I probably cut out what would be two ounces dried and cured.

Some years I feel I'm just growing Caterpillar Chow. Little shitters hit about 10 tops just like this so far despite my weekly spraying with BT Thuricide and running a bug zapper. Dig out the dead, Find the shitters in the wounds and KILL EM ALL!!!! The little fucks are still tiny too. Not as big as pencil lead and only 1/2 inch long.

Would you harvest from these pictures or just keep whacking away at the rot and spraying.
For me, I would take a look at the weather and how bad the rot is. Those buds are looking pretty good…pistils starting to recede and the swell is happening. That being said, I would try to limp them a bit longer but you need to do what you feel is right. I suspect your lower buds aren’t as mature so you could look at doing a staged harvest by taking the most mature tops and let the lower stuff ripen.

Thanks Seawood. I'm going to have a scotch and try to settle down. I'll try to get another week, and will take the top buds first. I'll let the lowers go another week at least.
