Oops on global warming

i don't even bother debunking half of what he says anymore.

"exploded"

I wasn't attempting a debunk, though. Just checking facts, because that sounded insane.
Then again, money gets tossed around for nutty items like Mach 10 rail-guns, so why not some studies on squirrels and "environmental alteration"

my bad, if you wanna use google scholar, try "ground squirrel" +climate change

("global warming" is so last week...)

but in the popular press, it's all about "Global Warming" in the hotbed of super important squirrel research reportage.
I figured that's what you meant, but out of curiosity I wanted to check how deep that actually went.
Even with the alteration in search term, I only found 7, and really, there's still only the two which are of relevance from the first entry.
But there you go; perhaps this is an example of how media runs away with the ball, feeding on itself and growing a bizarre triviality into beastly sensationalism.
Now where else have I seen that happen before...?

i was trying to find a story i read a few years ago, about a british squirrel researcher who had tried numerous times to get a grant to study the mating patterns of british ground squirrels, and was rejected over and over, until he tacked the words: "and the effects from Global Warming" onto the title, then his grant was approved for nearly double the requested amount.

sadly i have been unable to find that story.

the search goes on

i don't think they publish stories about daydreams you might have had on your mother's couch.

I wouldn't be surprised to find it's true.
Fraud in science is nothing new.
