Onto Greener Pastures (First Grow! Whitewidow/AK/NL 400w/600w)

Hello everyone, this is my first journal and first grow! I'm ever so excited and cannot wait to begin this new journey. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my progress, along with advice given! Grow on!

-Set Up-

Light: 4' T5 - 54watt x 8 bulbs (6500k)
Area: 4x4 Jardin grow tent
Airflow: 1x Intake Fan with a common house filter screened on it.
1x Exhaust fan with a carbon filter screened on it.
Plant Types: 5x White Widow seeds (Nirvana seeds) from Attitude.
5x AK-48 seeds (Nirvana seeds) from Attitude.
1x Blue Northern Lights (UFO freebie) from Attitude.
1x Diavolo II (UFO freebie) from Attitude.

The following diagram is to illustrate where/which seeds are in the cloning tray. (ww= whitewidow, ak=ak)

*** Day 1 ***
Placed seeds in moist paper towl.

*** Day 2 ***
Few started to open

*** Day 3 ***
Most / all seeds were ready to be planted in a medium. I chose rockwool. (presoaked in ph5.2 water)

*** Day 4 ***
AK2 pushed up and first seed leaves are opened. WW2 is sprouted but it looks like the taproot going into the air, strange, we'll see how this progresses. NO PICS TODAY.

*** Day 5 ***
WW2 still looks strange today, will take a picture tomorrow. Ak2 AK4, WW4 are sprouted! Northern lights also is coming up!

*** Day 6 ***

There is either something in the rockwool, or i have weird mites in it? Doesn't seem to be moving, nor are they all over my plants. There is actually only 2/12 with one of these black specks on them, and it was probably just attached as it sprouted through the rockwool?

I pulled the seed off after 3 days of it being stuck. Not sure if this is ok, I'm sure nature would have taken it's course, but I wanted to do a little experiment....(below)

I think this was the taproot growing up..and it decided that was the wrong way so maybe its going down...not sure...this is another experiment LOL.(below)

This is [AK2], looking like the best of the batch still.(below)

I just looked into a organic pesticide created with tobacco, garlic, onions, denatured alcohol are just some of the ingredients. I may make this and use it to remove these mites if they are. Still shooting for it being debris in the rockwool or water.

*** Day 8 ***

There is white shit on the rockwool!!! noooooo! I think this is due to being over-humid in the cloning dome and not having the rockwool covered. I'm created a cover method for it as we speak and im going to water the cubes in a weak solution of H2O2 after scraping the white stuff off.

IT ONLY AFFECTED 2/12 rockwool cubes? Is this mold? mildew? calcium deposit from the water or THRIVE ALIVE RED B1 that is in the water?

Temp has been between 80-83 degrees with 30% humidity inside the dome.

*** Day 9 ***

The mold from the previous post was unknown...i think just water crystals forming from me letting it dryout and stay under the light. I scraped them off, watered with some h2o2 water. The seedlings have been up for a couple days and today I decided to start preparing a Rubbermaid tote to do a 4-site bubbleponics setup. Not sure when a good time for seedlings to go into water is...or how high the water needs to be when transplanting rockwool into hydroton for this setup?

*** Day 10 ***
Today I transplanted the rockwool cubes into the bubbleponics setup with a hydroton medium. I flushed the hydroton a day before by soaking it for 24 hours in a ph5 water / small part bleach, rinsed them, and used. The 2 soil plastic cups are White widow (top) and Diavolo (bottum) in Black Gold's Orchid Mix. Not sure if the plants can feed off this soil or not, and when they're going to need nutrients lol. Here is a look at their new home:

In the picture above, the closest plant is the Northern Lights Blue, the 2 above it are AK48. Northern lights looks a little droopy

*** Day 12 ***
It is day 12 and the transition to their hydro environments seem to be ok. Day 11 I began a 18/6 hours light schedule. Temperatures are at 75f in the day, 68f at night when the light is off. I noticed some yellow growth this morning on mainly the plants in the smaller reservoir. I checked PH in both tubs at it was at 6.8-6.9 in both of them for some reason, it has been lowered back down to 5.9-6.1

1 leaf of the new set got stunted or something?-->
Northern Lights looks a lil yellow in middle, but not too bad-->

I also cut this nutrient mixture in half for the first week. This is my first grow, trial and error

*** Day 15 ***

It has been 5 days since the seedlings have been switched to their hydro home. I think 1/2 nutrients for their 1st week may have been a bit much, in the pictures below I think you'll notice nutrient burn? The PH rose a bit and I didnt adjust for a day or so, that might have caused it. Not sure. I ordered some DWC buckets and I'm going to give each of them a bucket to veg in.

*** Day 20 ***

Hello to nobody that's reading this :*( I ordered some buckets / dwc stuff to change up the current set up. I'm ditching the large tote method and doing individual buckets. I'm going to have to transplant, but oh well I guess. Wonder if there are any good nutes to use when moving plants, maybe some root66.

I also ordered some GREAT WHITE SHARK and Wonder Woman. Hoping to get some baby girls brewing in the oven!

<< I transplanted the White Widow out of the cup and into a 3 gallon bucket. Black Gold Orchid mix. Watered with PH 6.8 water, yesterday. I will water again tomorrow with 6.8, then drop down to 6.5 from there after. Doing Water/Water/Feed with this White Widow.

*** Day 26 ***

6 days have passed since my last post. I transplanted the 3 larger plants from the small tupperware container into their own 3gal bucket with netpot lids from the hydro store. Each of the 3 gallon buckets have a medium airstone inside. The white widow was looking sad on day 21-22 so I watered it with 1/2 strength floranova nutrients and it picked up fine. Starting to look a little weak again so I'll probably nutrient feed tomorrow.

I added (2) 42w CFL's - 6500k - which are supposed to be 200w replacements I believe, can't remember and threw away the box. Not a big deal, just trying to push out some side lighting since I'm getting some bushy plants.

I have a green wire holding this one over, it was growing sideways due to the poor transplant on my part. I have to add hydrton to it, just didn't have any prepared.

600w or 1000w HPS for flowering? 5'x5' area. If I do 1000w, I'll run a 220v to the tent.

Nothing too crazy today. Sunday is my new water cycle day for all the buckets. I was able to transplant the 4 in the 15gallon tote into their own buckets today. We'll see tomorrow how they adapt. Flowering tent arrived and is up

*** Day 33 ***

I picked up a 1000w Phantom dimmable ballast, 1000w agrosun HPS, and a good sized reflecting hood with 6" air cooled design. Too bad I can't try it yet because I can't afford the fans to cool the light/tent + run a seperate electrical line to this tent. Hopefully soon....before the autoflowers take off on their own...

<< Soil white widow growing slower than ever, yawn. Lime green as ever LOL, I'm slowly getting a better feeding schedule for this soil, been a shitty process that I recently stopped caring for. But I'll try to turn her around!

< This is the AK I topped, the side 2 are supposed to become the new cola...except I think some new growth is trying to form where I cut....Is this ok? If not, i'm assuming I should pinch it away?

< Looking for a clone...don't know which to cut....maybe I'll just top it and plant the top as a clone~

Anyone have any suggestions about the topped AK and where a good place is to make a cutting~ Also, I'm trying to figure out a good way to folier spray the plants. I haven't sprayed them once since starting this~ I have thrive alive green / red, and some other things, any suggestions on a spraying method? raise lights a bit when spraying? ph of spray, etc?

*** Day 35 **

All plants in the veg tent have been 18/6 now for 22 days (day over 3 weeks). The size on the ak / nothern light blue are great. New growth all over on all plants. Some yellow tips started today on a plant or 2 but I rose the light a couple inches and changed their water for the week so I should see some improvement on that, tomorrow.

I made a cloner box! Cost probably $50-100 total, I had a spare computer power supply and other random stuff but I'm pleased with the turn out. Air pump / stone in a smaller tupperware container. PH 5.8 water with some Thrive-Alive B1 Red. The box has 3 lightbulbs. 2x 150w CFL (using 42w each) + 1x 75w CFL (using 23w). Only using 1 of the 150w's at the beginning.

I also took some cuttings for the first time today, used Rootech cloning gel. Cloned AK48 "big bitch", AK48 "lil bitch", and the Nothern Light Blue.
