Another Ontario grower here.

Plants are looking nice and healthy.

Wise words on getting prepared for October. My Afghan is about a week ahead of yours by the looks of it, and I’m thinking of fall rain protection. Last night went down to 6 degrees for frack sakes.

Your running abit late then shoulda already been flowering... how many weeks does the breeder card say? Cant go past oct 7th here or theyll rot out. I made the same mistake last season . Goodluck man hope ur prepared
Thanks for the advice. They’ve had white hairs now for a couple weeks or so so hopefully they have enough flower time before harvest. I put them outside basically the earliest I could once frost danger was over. They’re both bag seed Pink afghan kush. I’m not overly concerned if I have to harvest a couple weeks early it’s not a huge deal. I have it all turned into shatter anyways so it won’t hurt the over all quality too too much.

I'm a ways further south than you guys I guess, didn't get quite that low here. But I'm kinda banking on a good indian summer, and indicas being better with the cold than sativa.

Ya same with me. The long range forecast for southern Ontario looks pretty decent. Hopefully I can hold out until October 10-14 for harvest time. We’ll see how she goes!

Seeing the bud sites forming now with more white hairs coming through.
I’ve given them 5 feedings now of Bloom nutes. Going to give them their 6th tomorrow. They’re starting to give off a beautiful smell

When I did outdoor I used pots, move them into darkness at 730 starting July 10th or so.Bit of a pain moving back and forth but had nice buds by the end of August.
I did that with a Cherry Bomb earlier this summer. She was (including the pot) 5 feet tall at the end. If you're going to do this one tip is to carry the pot in a fabric shopping bag, that way you're not scraping the tips of your buds with the door frames and ceiling.

Southern Ontario outdoor has a 95% chance of getting pollinated by hemp fields which are dotted all throughout Southern Ontario this summer. I know 15 people personally who only have 1 or 2 plants which are only female with no hermie formations and their cannabis is producing seeds along with bud. This is a big problem in the USA aswell. Leafly, High Times and other big companies have wrote articles on it. Sadly as more and more hemp is planted the days of solid Outdoor growing will be over. I hope everybody in this thread growing north of me in the GTA doesn't feel us Southern Ontarians pain..

It really depends where you live. There's too much city around me for my plant to be pollinated by hemp fields. My neighbour's sativa, yes hemp no. The neighbour on the other side also grows, and he only has two or three seeds. If you're in the middle of an urban or suburban area, you should be fine.

I'm also southern Ontario. My plants loved the summer. I had considered putting plastic over my plants to shield them from rain in late flower, but they are really tall now I think I'll just keep a close eye.

Looking forward to the next update!

well fuck my plants did get polinated this year and its never happened to me before. i just thought my asshat neighbors were noobs and growing a male. I live in a residential area tho right outside the city. Im currently growing out seeds i found...what are the chances those are a hemp cross? should i just chuck em? is there anyway to tell the difference early on in growth hemp vs cannabis?

SHIT MAN......leaglization has done nothing but fuck up operations.

Sorry to burst your bubble buddy but I am not keeping my seeds because anything crossed with Hemp will be a downgrade and pure garbage. if I am wrong i would love some scientific Input from ANYONE out there that ever crossed a strain with Hemp.

I've never crossed a strain with hemp, but hemp usually has a high lever of CBD iirc. So you'd probably end up with seeds that are lower in THC and higher in CBD than weed, but higher in THC and lower in CBD than hemp. Garbage if you are a rec smoker, maybe not bad if you're a med smoker.
And there'd be a higher likelihood of getting a hermie.

You should find out if there's a hemp field in your area and how far away it is before you start throwing away seeds you had planned on keeping. And find out if your neighbours have a male or hermie if possible.

I agree with Big Jimmy. I know there are hemp fields close but not sure of any males in the area but I doubt it. the hemp field is massive but yeah for the other guy check around first if there's hemp around then it may be your culprit but if you are deep in the city then could be male or a hermi you didn't catch
