Hi, I have an autoflowering Dinafem Roadrunner in a hydro setup under a 400W HPS. If its sunny outside, I take it under the sun during the day. Then I complement with HPS until the plant gets total of 16 hours a day. Plant's roughly 3 weeks old.

In the grow room its 82-85F and 55-65% humidity. The light is 16 to 18" from the top of the plant. When the plant is in the sun, even though outside its over 90F, all leaves look very healthy and point up. But when I bring it inside, the top set of leaves starts to hang. All lower leaves are just fine.

The light goes out for 6 hours and during that time the leaves recover - they always look fine in the morning, but I want to understand what's causing the hanging.

Here is a pic:

cuz of the food/water they make and store in em which they most effectively distrubute at night cuz they completely focus on it during night since its not focusing on gathering light energy .

Hey and welcome to RIU
HPS is for flowering not vegging
you need indoor lights 55-6500k range for that.

That could fix your problem in itself although I'm not sure it's your main issue,
but proper lights are always essential. A HPS CAN be used, but it won't be nearly as
good or as strong of a plant.

Hi, I know about that and actually have an MH conversion bulb. However there are several other plants in the same room who are in their flowering phase. Also, since this is an auto strain I expect it to start flowering any day now.

I certainly like the glow of the MH bulb better.. the HPS yellow makes me sick.

yeah that MH glo is givin ya a nice unhealthy dose of UV radiation, here comes some skin cancer arrgggg
