Only 9% of America Chose Trump and Clinton as the Nominees

What surprised me the most was that huge group who never votes at all, 88 million people I think it said

That is unreal, I didn't know it was that big
I didn't either. I fall into the "didn't vote in the primaries" because registered independents can't vote in primaries in Maryland. I was always told that if you don't vote, you're not allowed to bitch about the government. My right to bitch is far too important to me.

Whats so surprising about that? Look at the candidates!!. They don't appeal to 88 million people, so why should 88 million people vote for candidates they don't favor.
This poll should be used to justify the need to demolish our present system and start a new one, because its proof the current one is not working on a BIG level.

The candidates are irrelevant, you get around the same number of non voters each election

24% of the nation is under the age of 18.
2.5% of the nation is abroad and not able to vote. (Well, they could, but the Republican party says they can't cast absentee ballots, because they have to cheat to win)
15% are over 68 years old and probably don't know their own god damn name, let alone know what fucking year it is.

You add in the 9% that voted for Hillary or The Donald, and you're left with 49.5% of the nation either didn't vote or they voted for Bernie, Cruz or the other 16 Republican retards running for office.

Can you dig some more and break out the percentage of votes who voted for Bernie and the Retards?

Well according to the article Pada sited, here is how it breaks down.

324 million people total
--103 million can't vote because they are children, non-citizens, or felons.
--88 million are eligible adults who do not vote in primaries or general elections.
--73 million only vote in the general election but not in the primaries.
--60 million people voted in the primaries
----17 million of those voted for Clinton
----14 million voted for other Democrats
----13 million voted for Trump
----16 million voted for other Republicans

8.9% voted for Drump + Retards
9.6% voted for Hillary + Bernie + whoever else

18.5% of the population voted in the primaries.
27.2% don't vote, and are eligible.
31.8% can't vote.
22.5% will vote in general election, but didn't vote in primaries.

Isn't this consistent? I feel like these are the same stats we see in almost every general election cycle. Am I wrong?

Pretty much, as far as I can remember ~40% is pretty standard voter turnout in this country for general elections. This cycle is pretty ordinary in terms of voter turnout, IMO.

Kinda cool how that number of non voters drops drastically around 1920 though...
Aah, I think you have that backwards, that's the rate of votes for each election, so before around 1920, a much higher percentage of people voted in presidential elections

I'm guessing the lower numbers primarily reflect the high numbers of immigrants coming into the country at the time

The numbers look shocking, but the vote is a poll. A poll that captures the results of 22.5% of the population being polled is an accurate representation of the population. In other words, it doesn't matter that the other 78% didn't vote because the outcome would not change if they did.

Only a fool thinks "every vote matters".

Bitch away, bitches.

there's a lot of intelligent people here...

and you are not one of them...

Every vote counts. And your tiny penis is incredibly tiny.

Oh, and if you don't vote, you can kindly shut the fuck up about anything political, because... ya know... you didn't vote. Dipshit.
I did not think smoking pot caused brain damage. now I'm not sure. I can understand people not voting considering the choices we are given. in my state we can vote for non of the above
