One week old plant, Stem broke :(

Hi,

I've germinated my plant, and put into soil about a week ago.

It broke ground nicely, but today it collapsed.
The stem is about 2 inchs long, and has to tiny leafs.

The stem looks really weak at the point where it kind snapped/collapsed.
I read somewhere that I should cover the rest of stem with soil so it could stand.

What do you think I can do? will it live?!

(I'm growing outdoors, with about 6-7 hours of direct mediterranean sunlight. (Greece)

Thank you all,
David

sounds like your only hope, if it is not severed it should work. what kind of lights and how far away from the top of the plant are they?
Oh wait let me finish reading your post (wut a dik i am).

If it just fell over on it's own, there's a problem. I could see if it was stretched, but given that you said the stem is only 2", sounds like it's something else, possibly stem rot? If not, you can either prop the plant up with a small stick or something, or bury the stem a little deeper, dep enough to bury the creased section, so the plant will stand up again. If it's not sick, or damaged too badly, it'll repair itself. :)

Thank you both for the quick reply.

I guess I'll leave with my improvised fix of burying the cracked stem and letting mother nature do its magic.

(PRAYING....................)

ive heard wrap some toilet paper round the crack n then wet n mold it, prolly put somethin to hold it up for a while. supposedly the tp will fall off as the plant grows... if its not too bad. wouldn hurt to bury the stem some too tho
