ONE MORE TIME Around FOR THE OLD MAN in The Wardrobe Grow

I installed some switches on the LED Cob panel so i can switch each cob on and off by itself, that way I can have lower power for the little ones,, last grow the 4 cobs were to much for the clones, even with the light raised all the way up, this way I did not have to invest in a seperate veg light,

Interesting, I have the same feeling with mine - that they're too much light - actually I'm wondering (and only half kidding) why the hell I put 4 COBs in, 2 may just do the job too, I mean all the way through
What symptoms made you think it was too much?

here is the grow thread of mine where it appeared the light was too strong, the leafs were curling ,, like when a person curls thier tongue and makes that O shape , the edges curl up, and if it gets worse the tips twist around
it was my best thoughts at the time,
take a look

No seriously, congratz on the huge yield. :D 140 grams, now that's an amazing haul. Do keep us updated on the smoke report once it's cured.

My goal for the time being is to get the magical 100g/3.5 ounces. Maybe one day. :D
the donkey kong has been in jars now for 11 months, and it has curred into some fine bud for smoking anytime of day, Donkey Kong is a good strain for a hybrid, it is probably still my fav strain on hand in my stash pile,, i have around 10 differant strains dry and ready to smoke .
This grow the buds were a bit airy compared to the grow that cam e after this one,,, these buds would not be able to be sold in stores here in Legal oregon, they are not considered "top shelf",, but ,,, but, thise weed has a very nice high, its long lasting and has no paranoid factor and i like that part, it rolls realy good joints too,
i can post some side by side pics later today of this donkey kong bud, and some Gorilla glue from the last grow, there was a big jump in bud apperance,

I ran 2 grows thru this box ,
1 grow was with 108 watts of cree thru 2 cobs and i yielded 5.5 ounces
2 grow was with 216 watts of cree thru 4 cobs and yielded 8.5 ounces,,
so there was not a doubling in yield, and yield when compared as grams per watt was higher with 2 cobs than with 4,,

its hard to compare the 2 grows beyond that because there were other issues with each grow, the first had a nitrogen tox issue that hurt yield i am sure
the second had a powdery mildew problem that also hurt yeild

So if I can avoid thoose issues on the up coming grow we shall see what happens,

Thanks for the link, Tim!
Yeah I saw what you mean, and I may be blaming my lights for something they didn't cause at all :D

My feeling of "too much" comes more from the fact that my current girl seems to stop growing when I pull the (cxb3590 running on 50W each) lights down close - and when I raise them to some 50 cm from canopy, she takes up her growth again.
But yes, I had other events going on at the same time too (I did something unspeakable to finally get rid of the fungus gnats that had gotten into my system ), so maybe she was just pissed for a few days. Also, I'm trying out a few autos at the mo, and not sure they're my thing (sooo looking forward to next year, when I'll finally be able to do a photoperiod fullsize woman -haha- again!).

In any case, I'm only giving the next one 50W during veg unless I find her dawdling. Your yield stats make me more comfortable with that idea for sure, even with the measure of uncertainty that's in there. There are always other factors, and I surely haven't dialled in my space the way I'd like it to be yet :) Come practice, come proficiency, I guess!
Good luck and much joy with your new grow, I'm looking forward to peeking in! :weed:

this happens to everyone, dont sweat it, we do what we have to do in order to make it to harvest, and its just one of those things that we as growers decide, I have not seen anyone grow a third eye ball or tail just yet,, lol

I will probably start a grow journal when the grow gets close,, I will probably post box mods here ,, not sure really

your plant ,, if it doesnt show signs of stress when the light is close, its probably happy with the intensity,, there is a chance when you see "growth" when the light is raised way up is simply stretching ,, try ing to reach the light,
I have not ran the 3590's myself,, the cxa3070's i am running driven at 50 watts need from 12 to 18 inches ,, when they are hardened off i let them get as close as 8 inches late in flower,

here in Oregon its legal for Rec growers to have 4 plants per household,, and I have not grown outside here since we went legal, but next summer I really would like to grow 4 auto's, outside, they would finish up in the middle of august before our rainy season begins, and that would be SOOOO much fun!!

Oh yes, granted, but on the one hand it does seem a bit hypocritical to be all fussy about every little thing that goes into my soil and then to turn around and spray the whole shebang with pyrethrum lol
On the other hand, it's these crazy decisions that make the best stories in hindsight. Thing is, I knocked my lights, which are in dev state so not all fastened up yet, whilst trying not to spray the plant directly - and I had to fix them, with my head in the middle of the pyrethrum cloud. I had to take a few hours' nap after that haha!

Ah thanks for those reference points - surely the cxb3590 are similar.
I've actually got mine within that range for my seedlings, and 60cm away for the one that's flowering - I'll be lowering it a bit (again) to see what happens in the next few days.
I guess I'm just doing it the long but easy-on-the-head way, trial and error. I get overwhelmed with all the reading out there, and LED is like a snakepit haha!
Cheers! :bigjoint:

Oh outdoors is the best! If it were legal here, it would be my first choice anytime :)
Have you grown autos before?

no ,, but i have watched people on here,

I have not grown outdoors here yet because even though we are legal, not everyone is on board with it yet, even half my family is against it, so I have kept my MJ use hidden, but I hope by next summer to have my daughter to know about my choice in Weed over alcohol , and if that happens then I have a green light to do an outdoor next summer

Thankfully indoor grows have more than been ample to supply my needs, and I grew so much in the previous 2 grows that I am set on supply,, so probably just a single winter grow,, especially if I can do outdoor next summer,, I would love to see some auto's out in the sunshine!
