One massive pupil... Worried for my friend

So a friend offered me a tab while camping and I took it, along with one of my friends having his first time on the stuff. All the night went well but I have him telling me today that 1 pupil is dilated and the other isn`t. Now I read the dilation lasts up to 12 hours, but tab was taken 10.30pm last night and now its 6.36pm the next day.

There were no other drugs mixed and this is his first time on a psychoactive substance of any sort no weed in his life either. He has had no sleep since.

Just to give an idea of how this is, in normal room light he has one pupil about 4mm in diamater with the next 6mm.

I have no idea what to say to him. I`m researching too but I never heard anything like this.

Hes eating himself up worrying, I wouldn`t worry so much if it was in the 12 hour range as people have already told me they get this effect, just not this long.

Anyone know whats causing this?

Thanks

It's all good ...
Make sure there is no physical discomfort ...
Tell them to put on a pair of shades ...
As not to strain the eye ... from entering light and muscle contractions ...
And once he has a nap ... he will be just fine ...

Thanks guys I told him the advice and told him to keep me updated. He sounds comfortable and thanked me a lot now, I reckon he can sleep comfortably.

I`ll let you guys know how it goes too

If there were an actual problem with your friend's eye, that would most likely not be the only problem he would be experiencing. The nerve that controls dilation of the pupils also controls most eye movement. I'm sure he'll be fine after some sleep.

I've had friends have that happen. If it goes away after sleeping it's fine. If it's still there tomorrow he should see a dr as he probably got a concussion somehow and doesn't remember it.
My pupils will stay busted for more than 12 hours after dosing, even if I've slept.

The only problems I have came across with people having eye issues is when you take a flash photo of their face and one eye has the "red eye" effect and the other one doesn't. From what I read that means something is blocking light from properly entering and reflecting out of the eye. There is an eye cancer they causes that and many don't know it until it's too late or are tipped off from a picture showing something is not right.

It is probably nothing and will pass with rest. What you can do is take a closeup flash picture of his face in a way that should maximize the red eye effect. If one eye doesn't glow see an eye doctor ASAP. If it both glow, it is all good...But as stated, make sure he didn't hit his head during the trip as that is a completely different set of circumstances.

strokes and concussions cause such a thing. Have him see a doctor and pray he didn't have a stroke as it is too late for you to treat it properly.

Tell you friend to see an eye doctor. You'll both feel better and hey there are worse things then getting your eyes checked.

General rule of thumb
Q: I have a specific medical problem.
A: You need to see a trained medical professional.

Penguin ... have you ever been to the hospital on LSD ?
First time trip ?

This has happened many times before ...
After a good night's rest our friend will be as good as new ...

Thanks guys that makes me a lot more comfortable. I`ll be posting tomorrow to update the thread.

He didn`t have concussion of any sort on the night, just plenty of fun :)

We will seek medical attention if it persists too.

Cheers!

A friend of mine once had a third eyeball in the middle of his forehead. It was weird.
