Once you harvest, when is the soonest you can smoke it?

My plants will be ready to cut in 1 month, I understand that after that they need to be dried and cured but when is the soonest I can smoke it?

Let's say I put it to dry for 4 days, sure, it hasn't been cured yet and will take months to cure properly but can I try it after it has been dried?

I mean, perhaps it won't be as strong but it should be able to get me high, right?

Yup, it'll get you high as soon as it's dry...a few folks even like the harsher taste of uncured herb

As soon as its dry I'm digging in :(. I'm usually out and don't want to buy any lol. Yes the it does change the profile of the high I find but yes you'll get high before the cure if you get high after the cure :).

a week of drying at 60% first 3 days then 50% the rest will give you the best way, and fastest you can do without drying it too fast

Ahhhhhh! :o!!!! LOL. I honestly haven't notice a huge change in profile just subtle differences but mostly it taste better :).
i know certain strains to do, I smoked purple trainwreck before it was cured and damn that shit had me feeling paranoid as fuck and I don't ever get like that, but if you do research almost all strains tend to create that until the curing/drying process is more done

Also, if one notices that some buds are ready to harvests while others are not, is it safe to cut just the ready buds and leave the others to mature more even if the plant is an auto?

If you cut anything off the plant it's going to stop growing flower to fix what you cut, so don't cut anything unless you want to take it all down, lower buds don't get as done as the top, sometimes they stay white or take forever to change colors, let's see some pictures of the buds that you think are done

My research consist of 41 years of smoking and growing and when I said "I" that's me lol. I'm sure everyone is different. So will he get all paranoid, I don't know, but hey let us know. I do know that if the pot is speedy and induces paranoia then it has that effect before and after for "me". Also I don't get paranoid, I just think more, hate that lol, I'm a lay on the couch and drift kinda guy.

Lots harvest buds that are ready and let others finish off. And yup the plant will keep growing :). Seeing's how it's almost at the end of its life, growth has slowed down, but it is still growing. Wait till you get a few more responses to your question then decide how to proceed ;).

No, I have no pictures of that, it's just a hypothetical question.

Sorry Budley, did you mean to cut the buds that are ready and let the others grow?

This. I have chopped the top 1/2 of plants and left the rest for 2 more weeks. It's worth it if you have the time and space.

Yes I did :), but that's what I do, as I said, wait for others to post or search for more recommendations, just make sure their ready. Lots of threads about that, RM3 just started one that's great.

Ever hear of a staggered harvest? I chopped all the top bud a week before the rest.I'm guessing it added 2+oz's to my overall yield, just judging by how the lower buds filed in and bulked up. They went from thin and airy to solid. Takes about a day for hormones to shift/build up, telling the plant that the lower bud is now the apically dominant bud and then it starts bulking up.

So in order to improve this yield you chop off those buds that are ready and also most of those leaves that are blocking the light for the lower buds?

Too much cutting doesn't kill it?
