They progressed upwards in a easy maintainable fashion which is my desire for some upcoming sativa's.
I was thinking of starting low like you did with nets to make sure I get a good handle on the big stretch.. excited to see the finish!

Wide canopies works well in the shorter 5' tents. It would have been nice to have that extra foot of headroom but current basement design prohibited anything larger than the 2' x 4' x 5'. To get any decent yields from 8 square feet with a 5' ceiling, you gotta go low and spread 'em out.

The previous grow yielded ~15 oz. with about 70% of the 8 square feet occupied with bud sites. This is a larger canopy with closer to 85% of the tent occupied with bud sites. I am hoping to pull well north of a pound.

The VEGGING of my two ladies continues to explode under the HLG BSpec.

As you can see, I prefer to use pipe cleaners to tie down the branches and like to use as many of the drilled holes as I can. I find that the furriness of the pipe cleaners doesn't gouge into the stems and branches as the plants grow. By this coming weekend, those re-strung nets shown above will be put up. Once the nets are in place, those pipe cleaners will be removed and things will look much neater down below.

As well, with the lateral spread, there are some larger maverick fan leaves that are either pointing down or blocking parts of the new growth. Those mavericks will be removed to allow as even of a spread as possible. This time I want to fill the entire square footage of the nets.

Gonna collect some pictures of the BLOOMIN' ladies now ...

Loving these chubby girls. The side view pics show that I had to use some support for them. Call this grow "My First Trellis". The branches were starting to sag and we still have a way to go before they are chopped. A 6' x 12' hunk of support netting for $7 - and it's a good thing I picked one up a few weeks ago.

Thank you. And with 3+ weeks to go, I expect some more fattening to come. Both of these strains will start to throw a few more white hair out the sides with about 14 days left before chop.

I admit that there are extra popcorn bits further down the branches this time. Normally I remove much of that stuff - but with ~50 days of cured bud left, those popcorn bits might come in handy to prevent me from running out. I would prefer to smoke my LARF and popcorn bits as opposed to visiting the local dispos cause as others have noted, dispo weed bites.

If I find that I won't need them, they will go into the next batch of cannabutter.

It's a new week so I thought some new pics. I am not gonna bother with the VEG girls anymore cause they look exactly like the first pictures in this post. They will follow the same path and I should have them under the flowering COB's in late February.

But these blooming ladies are fat AF today. Looking at them, it's hard to believe they still need more time.

I estimate that the Cheese still has ~14 days until chop and the Diesel still has ~28 days. There are more brown hair on the Cheese than there are orange hair on the Diesel. And unfortunately, the cell phone pics don't really show it but they are glistening all over.

Thank you. There will be a few more things to add to this thread over the next month or so. I find that the lollipopping and the re-stringing of the nets are the most labour intensive parts of the grow. Oh right ... I forgot about the manicure. You gotta trim 'em to smoke 'em.

I will - although there really isn't too much left for me to photograph regarding these two babes. I figure it's going to be less than 2 weeks for the cheese and a little less than 1 month for the Diesel. Few more pics of them still in the tent, chopped, being manicured ...

But for me, the best pics come when the manicure is done and the bud are just chillin' in the jars.

Indoor mate I usually wait till end of Feb but got excited and started my seeds the other day a bit too cold atm so they're staying in where I germinate them.by my boiler

What are the ambient temps around your boiler?

So this past weekend we spoke with the cool aunt - you know, the aunt with the good SLR and zoom lens. She doesn't like to drive much even during the summer so the chances of us seeing her in person before these babes are chopped are none - and none.

So it's more of the Galaxy S9 pics. I'll have some updates in a few minutes.

We just binged all four seasons of Ozark over the course of a little over 1 week (Mrs. S. and I are both fans of Jason Bateman and Laura Linney) After watching all 44 episodes in pretty rapid succession, this morning your avatar just struck me as someone who could be working for the Navarro cartel.

But enough about cool aunts, SLR cameras and fictitious Mexican cartels.

I have some update pics for Jan 30, 2023. It's sometimes hard to believe that Week 10 / Day 64 begins today for both ladies considering it felt like I just flipped a week or so ago.

The leaves might look a little floppy cause they are both due for a feeding tomorrow morning. They should perk up a little bit once they get watered.


Blue Cheese:






This one is slated to be chopped Feb 06th - however, it might take until later next week - like the 9th or 10th - before she is ready. She definitely has a few more brown hair than does her sister.

The Remo nutrient regimen recommends completely cutting out Cal/Mag in the final 3 weeks of their life. As such, the Cheese has not had Cal/Mag for 12 days. One - maybe two - more Cal/Mag-less feeds then a couple of water only and I think she will be good.


Red Diesel:





I have this one slated for chop Feb 16th but we will see if she is ready by then. It might still need more time.

And like her sister, this lady has had Cal/Mag removed from her diet 4 days ago. With these two strains usually finishing 10 to 14 days apart, the Diesel should get two or three more Cal/Mag-less feeds then one or two more water only then we get to bring her home.

And unfortunately, the close-up pictures are less than sharp - but hopefully you get the gist of what's growing on top of the vine, as it were.

The COB's present a slightly HPS-like yellowish hue so while I do apologize for the tone they project onto a picture, I am not apologetic for the bud they produce. I am glad I shelled out for the VL's.

Haha yeah probably! Cartels use everyone for anything and i seen some of that show bit not a lot..... But this avatar cracks me up cuz i can't stop laughing when i see Luis Guzmán as the father in new Addams family ahhahaha he's the best!

Was wondering if you had switched to HPS from the tone of those pics. It’s weird how COBs can look so different in color from one picture to the next from the spectrum fluctuation. Nice job; I don’t have the patience to scrog like this but I bet the extra yields are worth the effort.

Just your basic run of the mill 3K VERO29 V7's. I did a recap of my lighting journey since starting my grows in the spring of 2018. From Viparspectra blurples to the HLG RSpec to the TIMBER VL's to the HLG BSpec - quite the trip. And since I am still on that lighting journey, always will be I suppose, I may grab another driver, 3 x 1 heatsink and doorbell wire so I can hook up the 3500K RSpecs.

One can never really have TOO many FLOWER lights ... can one?

Thank you sirrah. Every time I peek into the window I want to chop them down - now. But I know - patience, grasshopper! They are ready when they are ready - not when Barney's Farm tells me they should be ready. Both plants were flipped to 12/12 on Nov 28th and still another week for the Cheese. A further week(ish) after that for the Diesel.

Quite the labour of love ...

Most of my SCROG's take 10 to 11 weeks of VEG to fill the nets from corner to corner - and that is after the cuts have rooted. But pulling nearly 1 lb. from 8 square feet every 2.5 to 3 months is pretty nice. That satisfies my 1.6 to 2.4 gram/day needs. And as long as we are keeping it 100, it's the trimming that can be a test of your patience. You can trim for a few hours and maybe be a little more than 1/2 way through one plant.

Well ... I do have a small update to provide. One that I wasn't expecting. Unfortunately, yours truly will once again be off the beam and on the road for 12 days in mid April. Just when the plants in VEG will be in full bloom. At first, a trip didn't sound too bad until I found out that the only person that I trusted to do any mixing of nutes and proper pH'ing during my absence will also not be available.

Timing is everything, ain't it? So we roll with them punches.



I took some cuts and will get them big enough so that when mid April rolls around, I can grab MORE cuts and just leave them alone to let them root while I am away. And in the little pots are two Delta 9's San Fernando Valley OG Kush seeds. I am not sure if they are feminized or regular so I will have to sex them in about 1 month.

Not having popped any beans for a few years, I feel like a kid in a candy store waiting to see the curled up cotyledons poking through the surface of the Sunshine Mix.

By the time I need to take the new cuts in mid April, I will have determined the sex of the SFV plants and will take some cuts of the female, should one of those seeds turn out to be a lady. So I am gonna start thinking those female plant thoughts now ...

Love that orange hair colour of the Red Diesel. I gotta admit that this plant is far more photogenic than her sister. I just can't seem to find a good spot to get a real good profile shot of the Cheese. It just looks messy in the pics but it really is a far better looking plant in person. I guess in the end they will both look pretty good through that shimmering glass.

Both ladies had more run-off than usual today so their water uptake is slowing. Safe to say that their landing gear is down ... time to drop the light intensity a tad.
