I really hope not I just spent a good amount on these damn seeds
I ran F13 Throwback a few times. Best advice I can give you is to not overfeed, overwater, or run for too long. They're easy to stress and will literally die if you grow them for too long. Also, don't use soil that's too hot. I think his strains could be valuable for breeding as JD is doing but in pure form are a bit difficult to dial in and are very finicky.

I think, and this is just ones guys observation, discussions of his gear develop a combative tone that may impart a negative bias.

Folks like what they like, only way to find out if they are to your liking is to grow them out!

I completely agree. I'm just debating whether to run them and soil or in my hydroponic system. I guess I'll try both ways see how it goes LOL.

I mean, you got em, might as well grow em and see how they turn out. From what I've read though, a lot of people say the old BB is not the same as the current BB DJ is offering. But, maybe you'll find a winner.
Not even close. I grew Dutch passion's blueberry in 2002. It was phenomenal, hands down some of the strong indica flowers I've ever had. With great berry/grape jelly type flavor. Just coated white with colorful buds.

Dutch passion bought 200 seeds from Dj and had him help pick a male, then they parted ways with him. That was supposedly 2000-2001 time frame. So the seeds i bought were technically Dj's work.

Trust me, if Jd or Dj still offered those same genetics they'd be selling a shit load of packs. It'd be a top seller everywhere.

Here’s my take, even at f4 or f5 that is far from being an IBL from what the original seed stock was. We had earlier generations that were truly phenomenal and what most of us consider THE blueberry. Somewhere in the line that pheno was extremely common. As Dj continued the line, with every filleal generation things change. With that being said, many people have worked that line and taken it to cool places. I’m not gonna get worked up about blueberry, if I want it I have a few options in the vault. I definitely agree that the blueberry I had 1997-2002 was what is imprinted in my mind. If I remember correctly didn’t DJ run multiple males “pre-98” hence the whole term? I seem to remember him discussing this on the pot cast.

I think JD mentioned something about it on his IG page a while back... As for what it is, I dunno and Im unsure if JD is gonna make an appearance, here again, to say what it is...

This view for the most part is based on things I’ve heard JD and DJ state directly. They hold blueberry close to their heart and it has been an extremely important strain in the grand scheme of things, and for that I am thankful of the work. Nobody is going to be bitching that they can’t get the same (insert any polyhybrid here) that they got 20 years ago, remember that when you think of people that were growing and breeding before most of us were born.

Oh no doubt that DJ is a giant in which a lot of people stand upon his shoulders. No doubt about that at all.

Well they arrived today dj short original blueberry and flo. Hopefully they're worth it.
Any update??

I just finished JDs Azure Haze, part of my first grow, its currently on day 1 of curing lol here it is:

20210726_224638.jpg
20210726_224659_HDR.jpg

From the time it started flowering until it was cut down, it had a sweet blueberry smell to it....it showed purple/blue throughout the main cola.....youd swear it was a blueberry plant not a cross with how it grew....looked nothing like super silver haze and didnt smell like haze....it was chopped at day 65....perhaps too early....but the blueberry smell is gone since hanging it to dry....im hoping it comes back through curing....it doesnt smell like hay, but more like grass....even though it showed blue/purple while growing there is none visible on the main cola, just that one spot in my pic which is actually a lower bud that stuck to it because its sticky as hell...almost as sticky as my bubblegum s1....the small nugs remind me more of haze than blueberry - which is strange being everything seemed like blueberry the entire grow.

You should start a JD thread with your findings.

Already did in the drying/curing section - after researching, I tried to slightly crack open my biggest Azure Haze nug....did the same with my Bubblegum S1 that was having the same issue.

The Azure Haze smelt like sweet slightly sour berries to the absolute MAX! Im praying that smell takes over through curing.

The bubblegum was a sweet bubblegum to the max as well!

For those who grew out Azure Haze, how long did it take for the seeds to germinate? I popped 4 straight into soil, along with other strains from multiple breeders, and the only ones to not germinate were all 4 azure hazes.... literally everything else is going and its been over a week at this point

How is it even possible these are all duds?

Hopefully someone will bring an old clone to market. There are still cuts of the old stock going. I used to get some from a med dispo in Hayward, CA. Last time I had it was around 2016-2017 out there. It was fire. Once you smell that old blueberry, you'll understand how different it is from what we find today.
