Old Nutrients Turning PH Red (acid)

Hi i noticed that my plants were showing what i thought may have been a nitrogen def, 4 weeks into flower the lower fan leaves were yellowing and dieing and it was slowly moving up the plant but the buds looked fine.
I upped there nutes a bit but it didnt seems to change.

I checked the PH of my water and the run off from the soil and all the PH seemed fine it then occured to me that i hadnt tested the water with the nutes in so i went ahead and tested it and was shocked to see the water with nutes turn bright red when ph tested and according to my chart it is around 4 or 5 PH
The nutrients are 2 years+ old and i think they have gone off as when i tested some Bloombastic and attazyme the were both PH neutral.

I spose what im asking is should the PH of the Nutrients really be 4-5?
I just rechecked the soil PH thats a standard 6-7 is this maybe why im showing nitrogen def signs also?

Thanks
