Ok.. now what?

purfict one day you should do yourself a favor and keep a plant in 24/0 for 2-3 months and see what happens when you switch to flower. you might shit your pants. then try adding UVB for 6-8hrs a day.
I have been reading up on the addition of different UV bands during different stages of growth. Pretty interesting stuff. I am guessing you have put a bit of it into practice?

dark destruction is right about the preflowers and the states needed to produce them...and as for your wonderful mix of minerals in your soil....MJ is a very hungry plant and it will burn through your nutrients in your soil in a very short period of time ..bongsmilie

Ok , I have some Blood meal...what else will I need to add to my MJ? thanks for the help. MX

I'm with you man, someone doesnt know what they're talking about.

I veg under 24/0 lights and have mad preflowers, it is 100% possible to preflower in veg.

DArk/ Serial... ok so say I go along with your thought process...is it just a waiting game now? I stepped up the lights on this OP to T12/ 48in./40w/ 3200 Lumen bulbs and I run 2 per light bar and have 2 bars so total is 4 bulbs = 128,000 lumens on a 24/0 light interval.

Lumens do not add up wih the addition of more bulbs. You max lumen output is only that of your highest output bulb. The addition of more bulbs just gives you more coverage with the lumens you have to work with. 5-3000 lumen bulbs still only put out 3000 lumens, not 15000. Its a common mistake many new growers make.:peace:

Really??? so I can run 2 bulbs and get the same effectiveness as 4 and the plants will still grow the same? That logic does not seem right to me. What am I missing here?

instead of worrying about mixing alot of crap with the soil its better to just start a good regiment of nutrients to keep up the plants health .. start small with your nutrients..like 1/4 strength then gradually increase ..

Ok thanks... now I looked at them and this is what happened... What at the plants doing now? Is this the pre flower? or some sort of sex determination? or simply nothing?.... thanks for the advice.

Good deal... what do you recommend?

I have some water soluble Miracle Gro plant food in the 24-8-16 variety whereas 24 is N, 8 is P2O5(Phosphate), and 16 is K2O(Potash)... what would happen if I mised 4 gallons of this and gave them a pretty regular dose just like I would water but this time the water would have extra nutes added. thoughts?

well for nutrients it all really depends on how much you wanna spend on them but me personally im a ghetto grower so i don't spend alot of money .. you can either go with jacks classic or miracle grow but if you go with miracle grow only mix it half strength and you only want to give nutrients every other watering for the MG also its a little touchy to use .. for the higher dollar nutes i would ask someone else becuse they come out with bigger and better this and that about every day .. me personally i get GREAT results on my MG lol :bigjoint:

in a way they add up, lumens are based on footcandles.1 foot candle=the amount of light a single candle would put out in 1 sq foot. 2 candles will light the space up more than just 1. 4 would give more light out more than the 2

its a lighting discussion,...run for it while you still can man !! lol :bigjoint:

Yeah, lighting and multiple bulbs gets techy. If you have a light meter you can quickly guage how it works. Lights do add in footcandles or lumens to an extent but coverage is more the feature of extra bulbs as mentioned. But imagine a fixture where none of the individual bulbs can be seen and they have a single diffusor and reflector. If you use one bulb VS 10 there IS a difference. It's just not a 1+1=2 equation. It's some sort of differential or logarhythmic coeffecient or some such jargon. The important thing to know is that a brighter bulb works better in a single area (radiative field) better than multiple bulbs do wattage wise.

A agree also that anyone who doesn't know about preflowers needs to read any of the major books on growing or get some more experience under his/her belt.

i like my preflowers...they keep me from freeking out the whole grow :)

mx450 - about your plants being a lighter green atthe top near new growth, its fine. The new growth for my plants always grows a lighter colour. dnno if anyone answered that yet or not.

This is what the plants look like today... I mixed MG 24-8-16 water soluable fert in a 5 gallon bucket and have been watering them every day for 5 minutes at 8am on that mix. This combo gives the plants just a little water each day and it seems to give the lil plants the combo of nutes that they need... The plants exploded with growth over the last week. The skunky smell from 3 plants in so over powering:lol: I am still running 4x 3200 lumen bulbs on a 24/0 cycle. Notice in the pictures, I have -1 plants. Well that plant is in the Flower room as I have tried but cant get the cloning thing to work (help would be greatly appreciated). .. Take a look and tell me what you think. Thanks MX :bigjoint: Also on a side note...any idea what kind of weed this might be? I just got some seeds and have no idea what strain... thanks ...

More bulbs does not more lumens. Just a bigger and more effective coverage area with the same max lumens.:bigjoint:
