Ok, let the trolling begin...

Greetings RIU,

Humility, respect, and arrogance....

Since I started this grow, I have been avidly reading and commenting in threads on RIU. I have posted over 1,000 times in the last 3 months. The way these posts are being accepted and/or rejected is as variable as types of growz and growerz. Some will troll me to death...exclaiming that their opinions and advice are fact and absolutely correct and mine are wrong and some even say that my 'advice' is going to make newbies kill their plants. They even trail me through the threads just to be hateful and insulting. Unfortunately, I have at times gotten caught up in this childish behavior. I am only human... While others tell me how great I am and PM me with all manner of questions because I seem to them to have a very keen and expansive knowledge of cultivation...both of these are true AND false statements. First no one is ever 100% right or wrong on this or any other web forum. Secondly, I am just another guy doing his best to cultivate the best medicine he can. My opinions and experience are based on 1000s of hours of reading and learning. Sometimes I am right, other times wrong. Therefore, as for myself (and whole heartedly suggested to all who are members here) I intend to show some humility and acknowledge the fact that we are all newbies and can be taught new information at any time.

Anyway, the reason for this post and video...I have an issue in my VK that many growerz (including myself up until now) believe cannot and would not ever happen in cannabis. She has TMV or Tobacco Mosaic Virus. I was up all night reading and researching on what the issue is with her. As you will see in the video, new growth is coming in twisted and curved, yellowing and mottled on 1 side of the leaves. The ONLY thing I could find resembling this issue is indeed TMV. It is a disease and has no cure. So there is nothing I can do to correct it, therefore I am not going to worry about it. I have no idea how she got it...could have been with her from seed stage. All the info I gathered says it is going to have an effect on my final yield. However, there is no way to know by how much, because I do not know what the final weight would be if the issue had not come up. Luckily my LSD has not been infected.

So that all said, take a look and make your own diagnosis...after all I could be wrong and have enough humility to admit that. Also a tough enough skin to handle the severe trolling this will bring about when I post it on the open forum. I feel a lot of growerz will benefit from this knowledge of TMV in cannabis, so it was important to me to share it. Do with it what you will...

There is a home test kit for TMV available here,

https://www.agdia.com/

there is a thread where a grower had leaves like yours, ordered the home test kit and all leaves tested negative ,,,,, here,

https://www.thcfarmer.com/community/threads/tobacco-mosaic-virus-tmv-testing-home-in-minutes.59503/

good discussion though
Well, if it is or isn't TMV...it is the only thing I could find to resemble it. It is a virus and I cannot kill it. So, I am not going to worry myself to death over it.

ok i will overlook the title..but i like the humour comment

i will just say
chance of tmv is very remote..

and the" have you ruled out broad/russet mites" is a brtter place to start

those thingys are 20x smaller than spider mites and have caused so much confusion and pain

they can make symptoms of just about every lockout etc..as well as probabaly tmv

all the best

Well, you know what ??? I did not read all that much about Broad Mites to be completely honest. I was sure it was TMV. However, if they are that small. perhaps my magnifier could not show them...Off to read all I can about Broad Mites! Thankz for the possible light at the end of the tunnel!

sir, they are so small that you will need close to 100x to see em ..
they are easier to see on the leaf stems..sometimes you can see some "rust" on the leaf stems
usually necrosis starts..i have had the yellowing leaves..but yes it can also be a symptom of other thingys..like root aphids..

again
all the best

post a pic of ur TMV plant

if correct you can't ever grow again at that spot

if you smoke tobacco then the chances are very high

in the old days it was normal to wash hands when going from weed to tobaccay and back again ..?

all in that pic

I'll agree that *some* of the symptoms the plant is exhibiting sound relative to a russet infest. As mentioned already, those buggers are tiny and you will need a good 60x or better scope to see them unless you get hit with a total infestation. Then you can see them with the naked eye, but trust me, you dont want that. I lost an excellent group of mommas to russets and I'm still salty over it to this day. What kind of scope do you have?

Did you clean your growing area top to bottom, beforehand?

edit: If your grows in a contaminated area, problems like this are going to crop up.. In the video it looks like you have your plants in your living room?

Ok, my scope is a 200-800x...BUT, it is a piece of garbage...the USB connector does not fit right and I cannot keep it focused. I have been able to get a couple of clear triche pics though... and I have not seen any bugs at all.Sun Apr 24 12-40-18.jpg

I have an efficiency apartment...not much I can do about it being in a "common" area...but my place is quite clean and I don't smoke.
