well looking at at those home made co2 thingys they produce a bubble every min or so which is really very little and it dose will with the plants so why would a pure co2 cartridge not be much good? you could put out a lot more co2 with 1

If you wanted to go cheaper but still wanted to give your plants Co2 there is a better way than that IMO.
I have heard this from multiple growers that if you buy the carbonated water(bubbly water) and put it in a sprayer and spray your plants once - three times a day (depending how your plants react to it) it is a cheap version of a Co2 system.

Do some more research on WHY co2 is good for your plants and how it works.. First of all, it's not going to be effective unless your plants have MORE light than they can use. C02 only works as a growth accelerent if there's ample light to activate it within the plant. Second, how do you plan to keep the Co2 around your plants? Turning your ventalation off?? Can't do that concidering you need to add Co2 during lights on cycle. Unless you have a way to sustain any amount of c02 around the plants, i wouldn't bother.

You need to find out the amount you would need for optimal intake. Multiply L x W x H fo ryour grow area space. Take that # and multiply it by .002. The total represents the number of square feet of gas required to reach optimum range.

Example:
13' x 18' x 12' is 2808 cu.ft. x .002 = 5.6 cubic feet of gas (Co2) needed (recommended).

Dry Ice works, Co2 carts work, but a Co2 tank with emitter/regulater is the easiest.

As I always say, do your research before you jump in. Dont just look in forums, go and read or look online for info. It makes you a better grower!

I hope this helped a little

hey thanks im not joking here but let a full can off in the room i only have 12Qf and im sure 1 plant has growen 3'' in 8 hours?? am i seeing things? im prob wrong but im sure that plant was smaller than that be4 the co2 lol:)

For CO2 (a gas) you need the cubic feet, but whatever.

Long story short, will it help your plants? Yes.

Is it worth your time and effort to do it? Debatable.

If I had time on my hands and nothing else to do with those cartridges, would I let them loose in there? Yes.

ya i know what you mean but thats 15cm3 of pure co2. In the air we breath that much would prob be in like 15sq feet, you get me?

hahaha ya thats what i think lol i have like 100 of them lol

i popped off about 10 a day during flowering a few years back. just turned off the intake/exhaust fans for half an hour, left the fan on cooling the lights and blasted away. it was my only other alternative, as my propane co2generator was on the fritz..

seemed to help a bit....

I just added a homemade co2 bottle to my plants and they are reacting real well to it. Follow one of the DIY's where you mix yeast with water and sugar, that is the easiest way.
