It may go away soon, But it might stay. I advise you to take some heating tubing and put it to the top of your growing place, And have it go out a window, Or into a room and just put some sort of fan or something in the room. Good luck, And have fun getting super stoned. :)

How much did you use and what medium are you using it in? I used bone meal in a soil grow and I couldn't tell it was in there. On the other hand, I used some stuff by Advanced Nutes that smelled like pure sewer. It didn't start out like that but by the time it was half empty I could barely take the top off it was so bad. Anything that smells that bad, I'm not putting it on my plants. I took it back to the hydro shop and got my money back.

I've never noticed bone meal having a bad smell, I know the dogs must be able to smell it pretty good they dug around my plants a few times, then I made the mistake of leaving a half full box of it outside and it was gone the next morning.

I have no no idea how much the volume of 100grams of bonemeal would be, could you give use your estimate in ml?

I'm lookin' at a bag of Organic Choice bone meal here and it says 1/2 a tsp (2.5ml) per individual plant, mixed into the top 1-3" of the soil, when planting.
I realize that's not much use with no sizes mentioned.
For 2 square feet (which is a huge sized container, IMO) it says one tbl, so that'd be around 15mls. for that.
I suspect you used way too much? I was planning on doing as you have soon, TP'ing into some fresh stuff, but don't want to if it's gonna reek?
At least mine ain't opened yet!
Hope this clarify's something.

FYI- it says a cup (8ozs) will cover a 5'X6' area (30 sq ft)

.................ok!

I read a post a few days a go - from an experienced grower - he recommended a soil mix something like this;

50% soil - 30% perlite 10& sand 10%bone meal

must admit: did not read the bag - it did not even occur to me...

i m gonna try finding the post/tread..

im in three gallon pots

stay tuned!

Why would you add sand if you are adding perlite, that doesn't make any since to me, 10% bone meal seems like too much.

heres the soil mix I read about;

"I make my own most of the time.

40% Potting soil.

30% Perlite.

20% Top soil.

10% Sand.

Makes a nice light & fluffy mix with kick ass drainage & plenty of built in nutes."

apparently i made a mistake

theres no bone meal is this mix - and yes I have fucked up....

but the plants - they are looking good

it just smells..

ohh nooo!!!!!

The bud!!! - imagine what it will taste like..

i think i will have to do some serious flushing..

bathroom slaughter!!

had to transplant BACK into smaller pots. got the plants to the bathroom, by candellight I cut in the soil. Cutting so that they would fit smaller pots. And I think it worked. They fit. Most of the bonemeal is hopefully still in the soil that now is about to go in the garbage bin.

The amount of bone meal i put it was just ridiculous. The metric system or not; 50x if not 100x the recommended dose.

oh my god - what stress!

lesson learnd: never transplant when "just a bit drunk" - read on back of bags - doublecheck posts if u want to follow advise given on RIU.

puh!

pics is of bathroom after slaughter and plants back in tent..

they are two weeks into flowering by the way

ok - thanks for saving my grow!!

got some cleaning up to do...

I did a great soil grow last year and I used a bag of Fox Farms Happy Frog, a bag of Growers Choice Organic, a couple of bags of perlite, a *handful* of both bone meal and blood meal, and a bit of dolomitic lime (great stuff!).
