I may stick with my first instincts months ago ( after CFL go T5). The professours thread on using 420nm and 660nm bulbs is what got me to join RIU! T5' plus a ghetto style flowamasta setup. Basically ill do the T5's with one plants in my Hempy with a scrog! He gets incredible results! He has a drip system though I believe. Great job though bro +rep to ya sir!!

I was considering getting Neptune's Harvest Hydrolyzed Fish & Seaweed. Apparently it's really great for vegging.. not so sure about flowering. Have you had any experience with this stuff, DO3SHA? If so, what do you think about it?

i really like bontaicare's hydroplex for flower, no nitrogen so once the N runs out in your medium you can just feed them P and K for the last 3 weeks or so. their granular line is really good too. ive been trying technaflora, its cheap for the success kit or whatever its called, easy to use and makes my plants pretty happy. i did use jacks classic a while ago but i really only use synthetics for the last 5 weeks or so in small concentration to keep from salt buildups or burns. other than that its just high N guano and homemade worm castings for veg, high P and K guano(and sometimes banana peel compost if i got it) for flower.

I tried it, but it's pretty stinky. Not for indoors

Roughly 200 ppm of N is helpful, even during flower

i dont do hydro so im not sure roughly how many ppm of N rest in my soil, all i know is once N is less abundant the plant starts to feed off the fan leaves, why they yellow from bottom to top much like a nitrogen deficiency when theyre about to finish. some find yellowing leaves to be a problem and they attempt to fix it, but from past experiences i dont find feeding N beneficial towards the last 3-4 weeks of flower(for the first 4 weeks i feed a small amount to support the stretch and new leaves), though they probably are eating some N because there is plenty stored in your medium usually. also N is primarily for new leafy growth, towards the last couple weeks i find the more P and K fed results in more trichs, resin, and swelling.

From what ive read up on( I've had no experience) seaweed is more for flower but I don't know about it honestly

I think the prof thread using those bulbs has ups and downs, price wise you over pay on bulbs and it is strain dependent on success with these bulbs

^^^^ I buy fish & seaweed....Hydrolyzed fish does not smell nearly as bad as fish emulsion. And the stuff I buy is a 2-3-1. Those numbers are pretty flat and I use it as a general purpose fert....cannabis wants a higher middle number during flower so some more phosphorous then would be necessary

Otherwise, I think fish and seaweed is a great combination! There's lots of good stuff in this simple mix!

Thanks for the information, babe. I was doing some research on emulsion vs hydrolyzed a few minutes ago and supposedly hydrolyzed is a bit better because it's cold processed, while emulsion is heat processed - which apparently destroys some nutrients and amino acids. And, as you said, hydrolized fish doesn't smell as bad as emulsion. However, it's suggested that while hydrolyzed is great for everyday use, a kick of emulsion once in a while for nitrogen is suggested.

I think I'm gonna give it a try on my first grow.

^^^^ Sounds like a plan! :) Cannabis seedlings don't really need food if you have some compost and/or wormcastings in your soil mix- it will be enough to start your plants... and you start feeding the plants liquid nutes with a 50% mix after the first 3-5 sets of leaves form. ...then go to full strength a couple weeks or so later. I recommend using distilled water!

That wasn't very helpful. lol

And yeah, it's fish and seaweed so it's a given it would be stinky.
Had someone alerted me to the stink, I would not have bought a gallon of each, which now are used on my lawn. Costly mistake that hopefully helps others

Thanks for the help, sweets. My medium is gonna be a mix of coir, peat, worm castings and perlite.

Thats what scrubers are for
Indeed.. which I have, so the smell isn't gonna be a big issue at all. Sorry for hijacking your thread. I'm out. ;-)

lol its ok im not a thread nazi, and you got your stuff????????? i want to see
Yeah, I got it. I'll throw up a couple of pics of my setup asap but I'm gonna have to put off starting a grow until I make a trip to visit my mother. I'm hoping to be there for her next chemo treatment and possibly stay with her for 2-3 weeks. But I have everything set and ready to rock when I return!
