OG weed sounds like rice krispies when smoked

I switched over to organic growing methods about 3 months ago and all of my organic weed crackles and pop when lit up. I hate to say it but growing with chem was alot easier. I never had problems like I do now. Ive had problem after problem since switched. Even though I do a 2 week flush with water it still does this. I thought it was originally because I used molasses during the flush but it does the same thing with just plain water.:-?

same here. whoever grew it didn't flush guarenteed. The weed I have smoked that cracked was taken down in a hurry so no time for flush obviously. not good.

You're kidding. So maybe that's why my Cali. Indica x Big Bud girl crackles and pops no matter the moisture content. She was blown off the deck and split in two, so I was "forced" to harvest without a flush. All are being grown organically. She was water-cured because her buds were full of soil, too.

I don't think the crackling is a result of the organic fertilizers, I just switched to organics not long ago and I couldn't be happier. The flushing theory seems to make sense, you are probably smoking mostly weed, but some molasses with it. I would try a longer flush, organic nutrients could take longer to flush out, and I hear of people on here flushing for way longer than 2 weeks.

the crackling is theremaining fertilizer salts popin in there, try a harderflush some plants naturally take longer to leach, big bud is notorious for needing a three week flush to bring out that gingery flava..also before the flush starts flush your plants with 2 times the water to pot volume ie..plant in a 5 gallon bucket flush with 10 gall. water..,
i honestlybelieve that growing with chems is easier to me , i tried the organic hydro thing and was not impressed.., but if i go back to soil it will be organic all the way..both processes have their advantages.. most of the ill reviews on hydro weed is caused by lack of a proper flush.

sorry bout the misshap with your plant.. do you feel water curing( wich i know was a nessecity with this particular plant) affected the taste of the weed..

If you don't see any small bugs in your buds, they were overfed.
You can overfeed using Organics, just like with straight Chem ferts. Remember, soil can hold more NPK than a lifeless medium - like rockwool, perlite or coco fiber. You must feed, low, slow and steady to ensure success - & allow plenty of time for Mary to use up what's in the soil.
.
Every strain of Mary has a genetic potential, it can be reached but not exceeded. Some strains are heavy feeders, others like Haze - require very little and nute burn very easy. Force feeding Mary does not improve her, it just fills her tissues with NPK - resulting in weed that does not smoke smooth.
.
When you grow this strain again, feed them less and I bet you will see an improvement.
.
Keep it Real....Organic

Oh yeah? Would that site be California-related, by any chance? That's an Aero (newer model) 750. :)

It's hard to say whether or not water-curing affected the taste with this particular girl, because I don't have anything else of this strain to compare to. There's not a whole lot of flavor, but the plant never developed much of a smell, either. I did a comparison plant, and with her, yes, flavor and smell were affected in that a good bit of scent was removed. So, I'd say that no matter what you're working with, water-curing will remove some of the smell, and thus, flavor. It's one reason why I'm going to water-cure my trim for making cannabutter.
