This is my first official indoor grow

-I picked up an "OG Kush (Abusive Cut)" from my favorite clinic down in North Hollywood today and decided to start my first grow; I have been a member of rollitup.org for a while now studying up on different methods of growing before I went ahead and tried it out my self.

This is the Plant and setup:

DAY 1 (Brought home from clinic):

Plant and grow setup:

I picked up 2 100 watt day light spiral bulbs and a 5 in fan for the plant; but because it is Sunday, 9/10/2007 I was not able to purchase soil or a PH kit for the water... So it is still in it's rock wool cube ready to be switched to a 1 gallon pot of soil witch I will do tomorrow.

I plan on keeping this setup in the vegetative stage and when I am ready to bud I will get a 400-Watt HPS setup and will change my lighting from 24 hours on to 12 off, 12 on.
The only thing I am worried about is the temp, it is between 86 and 88 degrees but it has a constant fan on in and is under 24 hours of light.

Any tips will help me at all, this is my first official grow, also I plan on getting Fox Farms soil but I am not sure which one to get...

Thanks for stopping by, don't hesitate to comment, I will up date very soon with progress.

Great avatar, I swear I know that girl on the monitor (jp).
Is the clone rooted already?

Good luck with your grow.

Yes it is rooted, I plan on getting some Fox Farms soil this morning so I can throw it in a 1 gallon.

DAY 2

Went to my local organics store today and pick up a bag of Fox Farms Ocean Forest, I also took the plant out of the rock wool cube and planted it in a 1 gallon pot with the Fox Farms...

While I was at the Organics shop I bought a PH kit and level the water between 6.3 and 7.0.

I have one question though, when you first water the plant should you drain it after or just water when you feel the soil is beginning to dry?

I'll post pics later on tonight or tomorrow morning.

DAY 3

She seems to be responding to the soil really well, I did notice some heat stress though so I decided to turn off one of the 100-watt bulbs and wait till she gets a little older before I hit her with both bulbs. Also the water I am giving the plant is PH balanced between 6.5 and 7.0.

She also sprouted 1 more set of leaves and I can already see the next set on its way.

:

Here is the heat stress:

The temperature has been around 85 during the day so I hope that turning off 1 light will help bring the temp down, if not are there any other way's of cooling the grow box down or reducing heat stress on the plant?

Thanks in advance.

DAY 4:

She is still looking healthy but I am starting to think shes a little to light, and shes also beginning to develop yellow spots from heat stress.

I wanted to know what is the best way to give the plant nitrogen?

she looks really good. i'd start feeding at half strength. i prefer an organic nitrogen. i use a liquid organic that is mixed 1 tablespoon per gallon of water. water as usual.

I just came from my local "Organics Shop" and picked a bottle of Metanaturals, the Nitrogen one.

I plan on using it within the next week.

Was it you that has had experience with the Meta Natural Nutrients?

DAY 5:

She's looking good, the soil is really reacting with the plant. I have good growth on a daily basis.

In about a week I will start to add nutrients at half strength to help out with the nitrogen input; I hope she really greens up when I actually start with the nutrients.

I plan on having more pictures on DAY 7.

Anyone have any suggestions on those lighter yellow spots? I believe they are because of the heat stress.

Quick question, Can I have the light source off for a about 2-3 hours at anytime I choose? Right now i'm on 24/0.

you need some exhaust running to keep the temps down, if your only running 2 cfl's and the temps are getting that high its only going to get worse with the hps, fdd isright on about the half strength nutes, go with fox farm if you want some nice organic nutes that are pretty cheap

i had the same problem you did with the heat stress and i was told if i dont have a fan exsuasting the hot stale air then heat stress is inevitable..so i would suggest getting a fan to pull out the hot and stale air..that will also bring the temp down a few more degrees..and you can get the seeds pretty much anywhere online but be careful who you choose to get them from depending on state activity with the laws..
