OG#18 pheno selection

I currently have 3 og18s goin from seed this is my secpnd go at it i cracked three seeds half a year ago and am now running the pheno i kept in dwc and its amazing BUT my dumbass didnt save a clone. So now i started 3 seeds AGAIN. HAHAHA. So my question is this: Has anyone found a phenotype in the og#18 that was the shit? Please tell me about it and/or post pics plz. I want to know mainly which is the better pheno... stretchier or the more squat phenos

I think a better question is have you found an OG #18 that isnt the shit?

The keeper pheno is the one that tastes awesome and works great. There is no way to tell just from looking! Unless its a complete dud!

Well to be honest i found a pheno that sucked. It was very stretchy and grew tiny superhard nugs like little green pinecones and it tasted awful complete junk. The pheno im runnin dwc tastes like a legit kush no lemony flavor just fuelly kushy earth. But if i cant find this pheno again ill b upset. Please share ur exp. with growin og18

I love OG18 and I never really noticed much pheno variation tbh. YEs some plants might be stretchier than other with less branching but in terms of taste and high I have never really seen a noticeable difference. Always a beautiful fuelly lemon stench with some earthy undertones and a brutal stone.

Yep, I got one of the worst possible phenos. It is easy to tell, it gets SUPER HAIRY really fast. Tastes like shit, looks like shit, smells like shit, but the buzz is pretty decent.

When I grew the OG kush from them it was a horrible run ..heat was way to high ..I got a super hairy pheno ..it grew like a sativa but it smelled like straight gasoline ..the taste was ahhhhh but it was grown badly ..the potency was there tho ..I always wondered how that pheno would have been grown properly ..this was my first run with it when it was first released ..

Had one similar, luckily I had a nice lemon goodness pheno that was worth a few runs

Could that not have been all due to external environmental stress rather than a genetic fluke? One of my first grows ever was with pure afghan (indica) no extraction fans inside a closet it was alwahys boiling and the 2 plants both looked like sativas. Strechy as fuck, very hairy and whispy buds.

I have been hanging onto a pack of the OG#18 For a few years now lol . I do not know if I will ever grow them out or not , but none the less they will remain stashed unless I find myself bored and saying fuck it !

I grew 1 OG#18 out a few runs ago, and it was short and squat stature and was straight up fuel/chem flavor with skunky sour smell. It was not the hairy pheno. It was the most potent strain that I have grown so far. It was also the worst yielding plant that I have grown so far too. It grew very slow in veg, but it grew out nice otherwise. I did get some seeds off of this though. However I was growing it during the hottest part of the summer, and I imagine the heat stress caused my problem. I've still got 5 fem seeds of the #18 left, and I will try it again eventually.

Exactly ..that was my point ..did U ever run that pheno again in a perfect environment ?(og1

come on people let the story tellin fly. og #18 is direct lineage to the og kush and chemdawg so there has to be something amazing enough for someone to rant a little bit on here. come on.. im like 5 days away from harvesting my og#18 and i will post a rundown on my sitch around harvest. but please lets hear more about this OG goodness

My buddy grows it out. Not sure about the pheontypes he encountered, but his plant is lanky, sensitive, LOVES Cal/Mag and Potassium, smells like Chem/Fuel/Skunk/Blue Cheese/Kush. Dense, rock solid nugs, lower yields, 11 week flower time, STUPID strong herb. Strong facial high.

I just finished 12 of them from seed to select a new mum. I've been running them for a couple years from clone and lost the original mum a year ago. Good thing I made some S2s before I lost it.
On this run I started with 16 seeds, 2 didn't germ in 2 days so they were tossed. Two more were culled when they lagged behind so I finished 12. There was some variety in the keepers. There were indica leaning and sativa phenos and some in between. The indicas finished in 12 wks from flip with a 3 week veg. They wanted more nutes than the sativa. They had a more hashy taste and of course they were potent. They were also the best looking buds...big and frosty with a beautiful golden glow to them.
The sativa type took 2 more weeks to finish @ 14 weeks from flip (12 weeks from first pistils). They were a little nute sensitive....darker green leaves and some clawing but not severe. The sativas had a more grayish,silver tint to the trichs.
There were also some that were a mix of the two. I saved a clone of all of them but finally narrowed it down to 4 that are special. I'll make some S3s with each of the phenos ultimately.
Which one is better?...to me, the sativa. I like the sativa high better. But I could see how someone would want a faster finishing and frankly a bit more attractive indica type

But my last 2 og seeds from them were in the 80 day range on the chop so it's not hard to believe ..

But digging tru those s2s sounds fun and ur gonna do s3s I wonder how that turns out ..are u gonna try to mix the pollens next time ? That should be interesting

Haven't decided yet how to pollinate exactly but I'm leaning toward trying to maintain 2 separate lines of OG18...one to the sativa side and another that is more indica. This will be the first S3s I have made and I am curious as whether or not I can isolate these traits or if they will produce all phenos again. Unfortunately it takes a long time to grow and test so many plants.

My RP OG selfed really well. Not all of the offspring matched the mom but most were a good representation. I'm confident that if I started enough of them I should be able to improve on the mom.

I hear u ..especially with those flower times that's 3-4 crops a yr on a perpetual ..but that's a good idea and plan ..keep it simple like j planned and it can happen ..if always be down to try some

Rp og was pretty stable ..it had some variance in the phenos but u either got a indica or sativa ..or a mix ..of both ..being that it was selfed originally ..it's should be some good representations in those

i grow og 18 and have grown this same pheno for almost 2 years. it is the smelliest thing ever. the taste is super strong and leaves after taste for a while. i also grow for a dispensary and grow this pheno there as well. and its the top selling strain there. cant keep enough of it. evryone wants it. it grows a bit stretchy and produces smaller buds. hairs are really tight and bright white early then they seem to go away and the hairs dont really turn a deep red. kinda pale. its not a pretty bud but its super smelly and taste matches the smell. the high knocks you out. i had another pheno that grew huge cola but had no smell. the trichomes are very thick and have fat heads.
