OG #18 Flowering Time

What Up RIU! It has been a minute since I have posted. I have an Og #18 that has been flowering for 11 weeks and the Trichs are finally cloudy but not one speck of amber to be found. I am amazed that it is taking this long. I usually flower my strains 10weeks counting from the flip to 12/12. This is supposed to be an Indica dominant strain but wow! 11 weeks and no amber. But I don't care if it takes forever, I waiting till I see amber. I want that serious narcotic knockout that comes with the amber. Just wanted to see what you guys think. And no I don't have pictures. There was a time I photographed all my grows, but that's when I was somewhat of a newbie. After 10 years, that excitement has left! No disrespect to the Bud photographers!

Mine does it occasionally.... If stressed it will take longer to mature as well, which is easy with my pheno I know, so stretchy.

Like I explain below its typically a 10-11 week for me but can go longer sometimes. Mine grows like a freaking vine. Amazing, exceptional example of what og kush probably should taste smell like tho. I'm talking 99/100 there. But its ease of growing, cloning and maturing correctly is like 5/100. Haha

But mine if super well taken care of goes about 10-11 weeks. With a large plumping of buds in the last few weeks. It always looks like it went bad, then boom the clusters plump up and are completely covered in that greasy, rich og kush resin.

I wouldn't worry bout the knockout just pick as best u can. When right this strain is killer and very little tolerance issues.

Makes other og kush I've had seem wrong.
Dinafem og kush is alot diff. But I still grow it, u get an earthy more deep green smell, and it grows slower and much like a heavy indica, very, very apically dominant. Good end product just different.

The DNA/rp og 18 is uniquely potent in its ogk taste n smell. Hard to explain w/o having it in your face

Tahoe from swerve was OK, lil less stretchy than the og 18 I run. It's nice in the high, but very gas n fuel, garage like taste in comparison. Very little of the sharp citrusy ogk part , kinda like the Dinafem, its more earthy. Less stable ime too.

Just don't pick early for gawds sake!
The dispensary near me I used to like had some "Skywalker " that seemed alot like my og18 so I'm sure it's from DNA/rp's Skywalker Kush. Well!!! I got a hold of a few grams recently. Noticed the buds were a bit smaller, then I get to digging in and realized this stuff was picked early... They could have doubled weight and/or cash from it leaving it another 2-3 weeks longer flowering than they did. They wasted a great chance. Had some blue dream not flushedcearly enough as well. What a bummer,

We need more good strains like this og#18 out n about in the med world in my area especially. Like I say no need worrying if its indica enough, I've nodded off several times on my volcano with this good pheno of it I run. And like I say it grows like a vine. It's a strong hybrid of both, very visual sometimes! Hopefully I can find pics to show its crazy self.

But yes man it can go past 12 weeks on me if stressed the slightest, at least no hermies.

I have tried two different phenos of the 18 and i got to say it reminds me of sour d but with a hint of pine. Usually an og will leave a particular smell in the room after smoking but the two i tried did not smell like i burned og. Was very good smoke though and potent, and I liked the taste a lot.

amber trichs are simply degraded trichs. If you like a stonier high then choose a strain that gives that to you at its peak ripeness. People have the wrong idea about when to harvest, if a plant has mostly all cloudy trichs and a few clear but the plant is ripe and finished then that's the peak potential of what the plant is supposed to be. If a plant has ten percent amber and mostly cloudy when it finishes then great that's the best representation you will get of that plant. Imo never should you take a plant late just to achieve more amber and anybody waiting to see 25 or 50 percent amber before harvesting simply isn't doing it right..

aside from my opinion on the whole trichome color thing my og18 I harvested last year was sick the taste and smell are unmistakable, the yield is weak though. It's very dense and has a distinctive bud structure. I ran it for 73 days 12/12 it was one of the top two plants in my tent of seven strains fourteen plants, the other was paradise delahaze. 73 days brought it to ripeness I could see taking it to 80 days though
