yes we will like it when it is legalized. You can grow it with out going to jail and smoke with out them taking your car. No more drug test. Marijuana legalization is a good thing

Yes but not to "solve the worlds economy problems for good" Not to mention who said you can grow it? It's legal but to what degree will they make it. If they throw a 20% tax on it, I'm pretty sure there will be laws against you growing it tax free. And they will be federal laws since you will be dealing with federal tax dollars.

You are so right I don't want legalization but decriminalization. Fuck taxes and you know the government will up the prices like a motherfucker 600 an oz for some decent nugs. Shit I'll take my chances and grow my own like I'm already doing. The only way to get legal is to move to an already decrimed state and thats what I'm doing in the next year fo shure.

Both bills presented in MA said you wouldn't be taxed on personal cultivation.

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Speaking at an online Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, March 26, President Barack Obama pledged "to open up the White House to the American people."
Well, to some of the American people that is.
As for those tens of millions of you who believe that cannabis should be legally regulated like alcohol -- and the tens of thousands of you who voted to make this subject the most popular question in the White House's online Presidential Town Hall -- well, your voice doesn't really matter.
Asked this morning whether he "would ... support the bill currently going through the California legislation to legalize and tax marijuana, boosting the economy and reducing drug cartel related violence," the President responded with derision.
"There was one question that was voted on that ranked fairly high and that was whether legalizing marijuana would improve the economy and job creation, and I don't know what this says about the online audience," he laughed.
"The answer is no, I don't think that [is] a good strategy."
As I wrote in the Hill.com's influential congressional blog today, Obama's cynical rebuff was short-sighted and disrespectful to a large percentage of his supporters. After all, was it not this very same "online audience" that donated heavily to Obama's Presidential campaign and ultimately carried him to the White House?
Please take a moment to tell the President that marijuana law reform is no laughing matter, and that the millions of Americans who support this issue deserve to be treated respectfully. For your convenience, a pre-written letter will be e-mailed to President Obama when you enter your contact information below.
You can also call the President during east coast business hours at:

  • Switchboard: 202-456-1414
If you call, please be respectful and polite. Please leave your name and where you are from. Tell the President:
"I'm one of the tens of millions of Americans who believe that cannabis should be legally regulated like alcohol.
The American public is ready and willing to engage in a serious and objective political debate regarding the merits of legalizing the use of cannabis by adults. The time for joking is over.
Please consider apologizing for your dismissive tone, and please consider treating those of us who believe that there are viable alternatives to marijuana prohibition with the respect we deserve."

As Glen Beck showed the quote from the Godfather, I will to. "Oh. Who's being naive, Kay?" How long do you think that will last. Your better off thinking of the government as a bully than someone who would play nice.

I know you have 600+ posts here. I think your wrong. The tax In california is being proposed at 30-50$ an Ounce. 1. This would effect me selling 50-100 packs to banks. 2. Grow your own LEGALY and don't buy from someone. Your attitude is why we are having trouble making this legal. Please step away from the street thug mentality.

It's not so much a street thug mentality as it is a anti-government mentality. Something we were founded on.

Ive always viewed the standing of our president as a complicated place to be and thats that. Seems easily decided decisions get nailed from so many points of impact that ,even tho they would help said situation, it gets denied. I mean maybe the impact would be HUGE legalizing MJ. Maybe our government sees it as theyd rather mexico smuggles MJ to pay thier bills rather then cocaine or other drugs. Maybe the non-federal institutions that imprison people for these small crimes makes so much money off of it that denieing them these inmates could cause an implosion of some smaller cities. Personally i think our local police need as many busts as possible just to stay afloat. Think about how many man hours and officers it takes half the time to take down ONE big guy in your community, thats gotta be expensive. But then i have to admit that they confiscate alot of property due to the bust aswell. Basically id like to have an opinion on if it should be legalized or not, but i cant even come close to what the right decision would be (please dont hate me for being honest heh). Ive seen people saying it could be taxed and there would be this huge amount of profit that could benefit alot of things that need funding atm, but that just brings me back to the fact of taking money away from mexico. And i mean i sold weed for years and i could only imagine what i woulda sold if they made it legal, thankfully i grew up and got a job before i found out lol. I still know alot of pot dealers and to this day ive never heard of them shooting at eachother, whereas my friends that still deal powder are weekly shooting at either eachothers friends or them themselves. Honestly if i had to have an opinion on why they WONT legalize it would be the owners of this country's fault. If i owned a cigarette company i sure as hell wouldnt want them to legalize MJ. Anyone else kinda stuck on this subject? And if you found a fact to throw you over to one side please let me know hehe.

No one buys crap weed from Mexico anyway man, the real import of dank ganja is Canada. I mean I know it might be a bad thing with the cartel, but seriously, it's their fucking country and mafia. Our own country legalizing it shouldn't have any affect on Mexico cause they'll still push it and grow it down there. Mexico probably has dank and I know their strains are potent, but it's the way they treat the ganja.

But really, I know this was blunt and very vague, but Mexico brick is crap NO ONE buys from mexico and if they do, it's cause they're desperate and can't get it anywhere else.

If it was good enough for George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, why not the American people?

But ya if it ever is finally legalized its not gonna be this huge thing on the news etc until its legal. I dont think they will ever say (on live TV) that they plan on legalizing it. I think if it ever does happen its going to happen very quietly. Like when Obama wasfighting for it to be legal in his state i never heard anything about it cause it wasnt my state.

The question was clearly wrong, Obama needs to address decriminalization for medical users through all 50 states. You dont go from A-Z with out hitting the middle letters. To start you get it for medical users, then conpletely decrininalized, then legalized. It wont happen any other way. Obama will do nothing, what can be done is getting it for med users in your state, you get that done across enough states then the federal law is easy to change. Then you work for the next step in your state.

Baby steps, you can't expect anything direct from Obama, what you can expect is things like the new current drug czar not wasting resources on hitting med mj facilitys in states that allow it. You wouldnt have had this under a different president. He is doing his part, with out actually doing a thing dirrectly.

Mexican brick does suck ass, how many times I have found bugs in the buds. Nasty!

Im pretty sure there is a section on the forum to discuss this and I hate to post in the wrong section but I gotta say this cuz it looks like u all couldnt figure it out.. lets put it in perspective, its his first term and we know damn well he wants to get in for a second term so why do you think he would do something controversial in his first term? It would only make sense to me to wait until you get back in the second time before you address those kind of laws. By him legalizing in term one could highly decrease his chances of getting in for a second term. plus in the grand scheme of it all legalization of marijuana is at the bottom of the list... plus I think everyone forgets he is just one man the president cant do everything even tho they may promise to aside the fact he has only been in office 60 days guys, this is some wot of a democracy and we have the the house and senate who have to approve as well. WE ALL know once the goverment finds a semi intelligent way to tax our asses on it they will legalize it, they just want their share duh. (remember its only a boost to the economy if they get theirs)

I was waiting for someone to say it. It is political suicide for him to even appear to agree with our cause. There is so much shit on him right now, like another homie said, even his own party is pissin on him. He is already scaring people with his plans for bailouts and if he were to support MJ , he might just get impeached. This will take time, this entire war on MJ has inflicted over 50 years of brain washing a social damage. It will take time to unravel all of the layers of lies. This will happen, it is just a matter of time. The snowball has started rolling:clap:.
