from what i heard there is a fine line between an enjoyable narcotic effect and a serious overdose with liver shut down. i could be wrong. but if something is going to kill me if i overindulge i better not touch it.

I'd recommend leaving the nutmeg for Malcolm X while he was in prison.

Hardly fun, and hard on you. Stick to the herb, or get some of the "usual suspects" for your spacey adventures.

Lets just say I felt pretty stupid downing a glass nutmeg with a little milk.

it gave me cottonmouth and bloodshot eyes(and a groggy feeling for the next 2 days)

not planning on doing it again or reccomending it.

I did the nutmeg thing once and what I do know is this.
It tastes like shit,
Did in fact give me bloodshot eyes, and I didnt feel a damn thing except enough curiosity to ask, am I feeling anything?
I can almost guarantee there probably are some weird ways by which to get high, and some maybe havent been discovered yet. Howeer, I think the nutmeg thing is bogus, especially since anyone who ever seems to bring it up like its the best thing ever is usually a tool. That being said Im not saying it doesnt work just because it didnt do shit for me, maybe it only works with a certain type, I dont know. I do know that I used fresh ground nutmeg, and I reluctantly downed about 8 of them. Now is the storyteller that always seems to lurk around and tell us these urban legends an asshole?
Or am I for trying it? lol
Who knows, Personally, I think its bogus. Nothing but false bragging by bored adolescents that were probably going through the DT's of whatever substance they ran out of to cause them to try it in the first place lol
Which would explain the high. Perhaps there is a substance in it that can get you high, if so, lets figure out how to extract it. Until then, I dont plan on dumping that crap down the old gullet. Ill stick with some bad ass mary jane and my beloved viking mead.

I am allergic to nutmeg and I'm wondering if thats why some people get the effect and others don't.
Even small amounts used for seasoning foods are too much for me.
The reaction begins a few hours after ingestion and is very similar to drinking two or three beers. I'm in a happy, talkative mood and am mildly disoriented. Within 8 to 10 hours of ingestion it turns terribly bad. I begin to sweat and my muscles and joints begin to ache. I feel like I have the flu. I wake up the next morning with mild nausea and an extreme migraine that is almost unbearable. The migraines have been known to last two or more days. Drinking lots of water and taking aspirin helps somewhat.
I only recently discovered the connection and I now try to avoid nutmeg completely but sometimes it finds its way into storebought food that is labelled "other spices" and I suffer again.
I do not suggest this as a way to have fun.
