Nute Question!

Okay, so I found this nutes @ 24-8-16 now I followed the directions on the box, One tablespoon per plat per gallon of water, I mixed it up in RO water and watered roughly 4oz of water per plant.

Plant #1 is in a 3 gallon plant bucket or so, maybe bigger (one of those generic plant black buckets with lil grips on the sides.)

now 1 week later I gave roughly the same amount, more to the larger plant in larger bucket.

K..with this nute mix of 24-8-16 did I feed to soon or should I hold out a bit and/or flush. Leaves are a lil droopy, one or two the teeny tiny tips is kinda curling. Says it feeds 3x longer than other nutes but figuring I only gave each plant roughly 4oz of nute water it would be all good?

Any recommendations or thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. :peace:

Ok, the droopy leaves is either over or under watering. If you watering weekly I would guess your under watering. Its not just what the plant drinks you have to think about evaporation.

Depending on the age of the plant is how much nutrient you should use. I wouldn't feed a plant nutes until it has grown its Second set of leaves and then I would start at 1/4 recommended strength a build up of next few weeks.

So for now I would hold back on the nutes and water a bit more often and see how it reacts. Its not how much water you give the plant but how often, I water soil plants till I get run off from the bottom of the pot, then water again when soil is almost completely dry.

Hope she picks up and good luck.

thx for the info, the plant is on its 4th set of leaves, if memory serves me correctly 7 leaflets, new sets are sprouting where original starter leaves are and on up each node, the top cola (or what appears to be) is growing some more sets in the middle. I will have this thread updated with a few pics with size to relation ratio objects etc, in the meantime, keep em comming, learning lots from this great site!

Hey SwizZchEeZe, ok, before you flush and also before you can be given advise, there needs to be a bit more information referring to your setup.
How old are your plants, are they in soil, hydro, outdoors, indoors?
What is your PH. PPM? Can you post a couple pics? Temperature, lights?

As much information as you can provide, the easier it is to help you and again, pics would be the best.

Whatever you do, don't panic and make things worse. Get the info on this thread you started and I'm sure you'll get some wise responses quickly.

Fill in the blanks:

PH:
PPM:
Temp:
Growing Medium:
Water used:
Lights:
Light Cycle:
Plant(s) age:

And don't forget the pics!

Hey Krustofskie, you sure do get around. Always a pleasure. :)

Its an outdoor grow in cheap 5 gallon black plant buckets (almost the size of what one picks apples with just a little taller and not as wide) The last several days have been overcast as poopy, temps avg around 75-80s and nights at aroun 69-74s, in the north, strain is early misty. Also stem seems a little skinnier near the base, I'm thinking it was possibly planted a lil shallow then again I sprouted it in a peat disc and just planted to soil purdy much flush with the top of the pellet. The soil is a little clayeee, added some cheap potting mix about 3 cups and a cup of miracle grow soil mix and then used soil from yard, use to be farm field where alfafa grew for years, added a little sand, mixed it up and vwahlla. Talk about weird mixes but I am limited and am trying to find the best bang for my buck as far as soils go. Normally on a clear day the sun comes up at around 6:30am and it gets that light and continues til the sun goes down around 8:30pmish give or take. Will post some pics very very soon. Thx again everyone!

Alright Madness, how are ya. I can be around quite a lot, working night security at a student res so I have all night online.

Good to see you given good solid advise, sounding like a seasoned pro already.

I am going with what Krustofskie was saying and even more so since you are saying that your soil is "clayeee". Your roots need to breath and if your soil is to dense, watering only helps to suffocate your roots even more. Thus the reason your leaves are drooping.
You may need to transplant into a better soil medium that contains things like perlite. I fear that every time that you water, your clayeee soil will always haunt you.
I understand that at this time you may not be able to buy a lot of the good stuff we use to grow, but the least you can do is get a decent soil. A good soil will already have a nutrient base and a safer foundation to keep your plants alive.
Again, pics would help a lot to gage plant age and overall problem.
Good luck

kk, I updated with pics....I dunno maybe I'm just paranoid after reading everyones plant problems etc but better safe than sorry...thx everyone

Plant looks healthy from the pics, but listen to madness, it looks like you need some airiation in the soil, try and get some perlite and mix it in with your soil it will do wonders for your drainage.

Good luck

any other pointers would be appreciated, unsure on how to go about mixing perlite in with the established soil, dun want to mess with the roots nor come near them, if I don't have to. It seems to drain purdy well, its kinda on a mound so excess water can run to the sides and down, I poked the soil a few time to kinda airate it, it still breaks up easily. Anywho take care and have a good one.
