i have no idea what's wrong with this plant... and i keep getting conflicting info.. one says feed more, one says feed less, etc etc.. yet, no matter what i do i think it gets worse and worse, as you can see from the pics... this problem started about 6days ago.. and its consistently worse every morning when i check them....

i give them ph'd water 2 days then feed 1 day, and continue like that..

temps are 83-85, but with good air flow

is under 1000w MH, about 24inches away (air cooled)

i have 2 AK47's, and 1 Northern Lights, i been treating them all pretty much the same, and the NL is lookin fine, yet both AK's are looking terrible.. and i was told that its for SURE the plant was fed too much.. can someone else chime in? im really starting to wonder if this plant is even gonna turn around and make it.. looks pretty sad

this is the progression, from the first day i noticed it, until today.. and this is the worse of the 2 plants.. oh, they seem kind of stunted at same time... heres all the pics

as you can see its getting worse and worse, until right now, i hadnt given them any nutes since i noticed the problem, because i was advised to do so... but, obviously it ain't helping, so im looking for a second opinion, thanks a lot......

Looks like a magnesium deficiency to me. The fix is either about 1/2 tsp to one gallon in yout add water ( that would be a light dose but will help you figure out if it works before doing something too drastic) or some cal-mag from the local hydro store.internet site.

Are you using tap water or RO?

Nute burn doesn't yellow before it spots. That's why I suspect a mag defiency because the plant looks like it is having trouble processing Nitrogen.

thanks guys, ive been using distilled and tap water, but my tap water is only 80ppm anyway, so its about as good as RO, i dont have any cal-mag guess ill have to wait till monday for that.. i forgot to mention few things.. mi using GH flora, lucas formula, doesnt this have enough cal-mag in it anyway? thought i wouldnt need at add any using that?

the thing i did notice that i forgot to mention was, when the problem started, i think my nute ph was way low.. like 5.1, orginally it was 6.0, but it must have drifted down and i didnt think to check it until.. well yesterday..

so after maybe 1-2 days of giving them low ph nutes(without knowing yet).. i posted and was told nute burn and just water for couple of days..so i went to just water for about 5 days (from the advice i was given), and today back to 1/4strength nute but i made sure my ph was 5.9 this time, is it possible thats all it was? ph was too low for 1-2 days, problem started, and i made it worse by only giving them water? seem plausible to me, that must be it.. either way, for now, would you suggest i feed them as if there were no problem and then try the cal-mag thing when i can go pick some up? and will these badly damaged leaves recover or should i get rid of them.. ive also noticed, the leave set above the bad one's.. at the very very tips, are beginning to get the grayish black spots as well... so i definitely dont want it to travel any further up.. thanks again mostly and, forgot the name of the other guy who answered at the moment but thanks to u too lol

It's big enough for some nutes but probably not full nutes (second set of true leaves or better). I'd hang around 1/4 nutes for about a week and see if the plants look better. Those damages leaves may or may not hang on. I've had some drop early and had some that lasted the whole grow. When the plant is done with them they will drop off. No need to cut or pull. The extra low PH can mess them up a bit when they are young but it's far from a fatal mistake. Just concentrate on looking after the plant and remember to do things slowly when you change anything.

well, thanks for all the input, ill come back in a week or so of me feeding lightly and hopefully it fixes itself!

as for feeding too early, it cant be, the lower leaves were turning yellow like 2 weeks ago, so i began feeding (the cotys were yellowing as well) and they greened up for about 1 week.. yo ucan start feeding when to cotys are yellow, as they dont have everything the baby needs anymore.. but thanks

but isn't it strange that the NL is fine and the other two AK47s arent?? lol.. considering they get the exact same treatment? what the heck ill take a pic of each to show the difference

pretty odd no?

like i've said....since you were watering an feeding everyday you over nuted the plant an caused a lock....with your next watering give them a teaspoon of epsom salts per gal if you cant get cal-mag....az

How old is that girl?
:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:
She should be way bigger IMO.
broke ground on the 1st... so 25days old..
were in just rockwool at first, i had a 32w fluro tube daylight shoplight.. when the taproot showed its face i transplanted to the 8oz dixie cups will 100% perlite.. hempy style (this was like day 2 or 3).. umm, then up until... day.. around day 18 i guess i put the 3 of them under the 1000w mh, and transplanted them to 5gal buckets... that was probably a mistake i know, too soon but, oh welll
and about 2 days later this problem started.. and here we are day 26.. i find theyre small too but what do i know lol

That light is way too close even for a cool tube IMHO. back it off some and try and take your temps down to something like 78 degrees or better. See if they get better after that and if they don't then add some weak nutes. What's the PH of your water?

You must realize the true food is generated by the plant itself.
You need to stop poisoning her water supply.
Some Epsom salt will help even out the lockout, maybe.
What are you doing for airflow?

? i gave them strictly water for 5 days..
what do you mean the true food is generated by the plant itself? are you trying to tell me i dont need to give them anything? theyll make their own food with just water?? im not in soil you know, im not sure what you're thinking to be honest, cause i havent been giving them nutes since the problem first surfaced....

for airflow i have 6in vortex cooling the hood and its an open space so the air thats being sucked out is replenished with fresh air.. temps today are actually about 81 just it was a bit warm here last week i had problems keeping it at 85 but its on its way back down

You have to remember that if the grow is 85 the canopy is a lot hotter. It might be 85 ambient but it could be in the mid to high nineties at top. Still though your plants are short so canopy temps really aren't important at this stage in their growth. I'd add the salts like Sure Shot said and keep your PH somewhere around 5.8-6.2. You have passive intake vents for ventilation right? How many? You should have three times as many as your exhaust. Three 6" passive intake holes should cool things down a bit.

Maybe he was talking about the sucker leaves. They supply the plant with food in the first stages of vegging. Once the sucker leaves drop of or turn brown you can give them some weak nutes and see how they handle it. I'd still think about raising your light, 1000 watts is still pretty strong even in a cool tube. Maybe talk to someone who has a 1000 watter and see what they say.

I'm getting piss poor growth in pearlite an miniature Hempies so I'm gonna transplant them into a Bubbler with grow rocks, adjust my temps and see what happens. I'll keep in touch.

P.S.,

I'm using schwag seeds though so my genetics are probably poor. That might be effecting things negatively for me, I'm not sure at this point though.
