hi all

I have several problems with two of my plants. one is a big bud, about 9 weeks old. some leaves are drooping, and have funny white and yellow spots, with a shiny brownish color. the other is a Swazi Gold, with leaves clawing, same age. also has some browning or "rotting" edges, on two leaves only. it also has the same white dots. please see pics and advise.

The hooked leaves are either through overwatering, or you have a potassium deficiency.

The speckled leaf looks like insect damage. Noticed any insects? Moth worms or whatever they're called.

Flip over the leaf, and check for anything maybe 2-3mm long crawling across the underside of the leaf.

hi guys, thanks for replying.

i have used Bioneem when i noticed spider mites and leaf miners. they seem to have gone now. i could have over watered a bit as well.

i found two bugs one two plants this morning, don't knolw if they are harmful or helpful (attached pics). one is a brown type beetle, the other is a triangular shaped bug. i also have a praying manitis visiting. is he harmful?

when i last did a soil flush, some of the brown ones came out of the soil (coco, bat guano, perlite and lime stone mix called Pro-mix).

i use the biobizz fertilizer, best available for mary jane growing in South Africa

Keep the mantis, he is your friend.

The fact that he is there says there is plenty to eat.

You'll never get rid of the insects. By the way, the worst ones are the ones you can hardly see.

howdy

did the flush test. ph of water was 7, runoff was 6.8.
now the spots on the leaves turned to a golden-brownish-orangy color, about the length of a ricge grain, evenly spread out on the leaf. some edges beginning to rot.
took the whole plant out last night, washed the roots off with running water (the roots were all entangled, but not rotten. Transplanted into new soil, added 200ml of kelp nutrient, and a little Biobizz biogrow. will see what happens. are spiders on the plant benificial at all (small black one).

also put potato slices on top of the soil, and this morning they were crawling with small, black little kreepy crawlies, too small to identify but they were all over. any ideas?

small black spiders are fine. They're just there for the feast.

Did you say you have neem oil? You need to go to war on the insects. It'll be a constant battle till harvest... but so long as you fight you should be able to keep them under control.

The product is Biogrow's Bioneem, and contains 1500ppm AZADIRACHTIN.

Hope it will work. if not i consider going to stronger pesticides, like spruzit-pyrol?
