The plant on the left is not doing any growing View attachment 4322350 View attachment 4322352
The right side has two very long roots coming out of it.
the left one is far from dead.
what light cycle are you running now? 18/6, 20/4, 24/0 etc??
if you can get that kelp or superthrive, i'd foliar feed the left one and see if she perks up. a good spray 12 hrs apart and see how she reacts.

and @Jypsy Dog i'm gonna steal your hospital bucket term. love it!!

and bearded, is there any open spaces in those netpots towards the top where light could get in?

if so, add more hydroton to cover them up completely

Thanks all. I jumped the gun a little bit and the super thrive will be here tomorrow. I will get the kelp from lowes this weekend. I will add more hydro because there may be some light getting through.
I have them on 18/6

the reason i asked about the light is i'm wondering if running them 24/0 would help them instead of having a dark cycle? i've tried many of them and i still go back to 24/0 for the best results. as a C3 plant they dont' need to sleep.

do you know what temps the room gets down to during the dark cycle? below 70F?

Rocket man,
What are your thoughts on if I keep the one reservoir and just add the Superthrive? I was reading up in this stuff and I may be putting it into the main res anyway. It sounds like it works great! At least for the next two water changes (some info says the entire veg cycle). Just wondering as I am running out of room in the tent. But I do think I can fit it in. Maybe keep the EC around .4 or .5 for another 7-10 days. Thanks again!

you can do that too. just follow the directions on the ST. it really is just a few drops needed.

i think your EC is fine for quite a bit. as they develop more root systems and start to grow more then you'll need to bump up your EC. but bump it up slowly.

Okay. I have not seen any improvement. I am fairly certain I have the dreaded root rot. The roots that were on the one plant are growing, but break off easy and are a bit brown and slimy. The other plant never showed any roots (and I saw some bits of roots in the hydroton). Not sure what went wrong, I use hydroguard and great white throughout the grow. The only thing I can think of is that when I went to 1/8 strength notes, I cut the hydroguard as well. Water temps don't get over 71 degrees and I have good air flow inside the tent. I have had higher air temps (up to 91, but I quickly took care of those. on average the tent is about 85 or less. I am going to give it one more week as I added the suggested levels of hydroguard. I believe I am going to call it quits after a week. Do a thorough clean up and start again.......If ya wanna make an omelet! Thanks for the help, especially rkymtnman!

before you call it quits on the one that has roots, i would mix up some water and peroxide and dunk the whole netpot into it. at least a few times. then go back to max dose of hydroguard and very light nutes.

on the one that has no roots, why not just try to gently remove the plant from the hydroton and see what the hell is going on with it? maybe you could gain some info as to why it never started rooting?

but anyhow, onwards and forwards. start some new plants in a grow journal and let's see how the next ones turn out.

A little post mortem detection.

I am planning the services for the weekend. Your all invited. Then I will sanitize and look for another. Do you sanitize all hoses including air hoses? or do you replace them after each grow?
