CCW permit holders can carry loaded firearms in their vehicles all they want.
Will the police bring search warrants every time they get called to a home so they can search the home for improperly stored firearms or will it only be a law that is enforced if the police just happen to see it by chance?
I think the risk of being charged is so minimal and the law so unenforceable that it will not do any good at all.
The law will not do shit IMO.

Tis funny how everyone wants to ban certain types of guns. A firearm doesn't function on its own. The weak link is humans, period.
Banning guns will only accomplish having the psychos use alternate means to bring about thier plots. More people are injured or killed by small arms fire ( handguns) than all the rest combined. There are nearly 4 times the handguns produced than rifles and it has been that way for a long time.
There will always be the disturbed freaks that are going to do what they are going to do, be it with guns, explosives, poisons or whatever else they can dream up.
