Not weed. Using Air Infinity 8 inch pro kit for inside home air quality?

With Canada burning air quality hazards abounding. I was thinking of utilizing above system to improve my homes indoor air quality when outside air an issue. Would want motor to run just enough speed to replenish air expelled thru home leakage. Slow air movement thru carbon filter requirement for carbon to absorb the smoke/airborne crap. So any good ideas how to properly set fan speed ( OK with trial and error if need be)?

Or better ideas?

I think you would be better off with a hepa filter

here is a air filter from amazon that costs 99.99 right now i dont know how well it works but its probably better than the filter you chose hepa carbon filter

How do you fix it to the fan, duct tape? Also does that strain the box fan motor, I'm only ask because I wonder if that might be a fire hazard. Otherwise seems like a good idea.

i don't think I've seen a photo of that setup before but I've seen abunch of people suggest it.

I used painnters tape. It doesn't strain the fan. Thousands or more were used for when covid hit. Search furnace filter box fan. No cheap filters, a good one will cost more than the fan.

problem is the carbon filter will make your incoming air smell like a coal mine hepa sounds better

Pick up one of the covid room filters. They are cheap because of overproduction.

I’ve ran an in-line fan hooked to a hepa refill before. Works good if you can find the right size, alternatively you could put hvac hepa filters around the carbon scrubber as a prefilter and that would probably work great

I’m actually thinking about doing this downstairs since my roommates have 3 dogs and no housekeeping skills.

check this out, takes up a fare bit of room but most likely one of the best options for air scrubbing..

it shouldn't, i've never smelled coal from carbon air filters

No, it won’t. Activated charcoal is completely odorless. Hepa is better for intake though but not for that reason, it’s just denser filter material so smaller microscopic particles can’t get through it like mold spores, bacteria etc. carbon just absorbs odors basically just evaporated organic compounds
