Not sure what to do about yellow tips of first set of leaves // 1st grow

Hi guys,

First grower here. As said in title the tips of my leaves have been getting slightly burnt/yellowing.
New growth looks better for now though and it’s a lot worse on one plant vs the other.

Some details:

They are 13 days old // Bubba Kush // started in jiffy pellets and transplanted yesterday into Yates premium potting mix (tips were yellowing in jiffy pellets) // they are under a 600watt Viparspectra led @ 32 inched // temps between 22-27 Celsius and humidity between 40-70. Lights are on 18/6.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance . Will post pictures

I have to disagree. Don't transplant it will just shock it. Don't fertilize for at least one week to ten days. You just have a little nute burn. Other than that it looks good. Don't over water #1 mistake

Thanks for your kind responses. My one question is how is it nute burn when they have been in jiffy pellets for their entire life so far (only potted yesterday) and I haven’t given them any nutes at all?

i mean replant into some good soil. you have wood chips ontop which are very acidic and that is what is happening to your plant

I say replant it into softer soil, if you haven’t fed it it’s the soil killing it! Too hot for your little seedling! Common problem/mistake, why is there wood? Bio bizz light mix or something would make sense :weed:

Even though I don’t fully agree it’s the soil since you say you JUST planted it, your soil does have a slow release fert. And those kinda things you want to stay away from. Time released fertilizers of any type are too strong for growing cannabis plants. Often times people also forget its in their soil and add more ferts so when it’s time to initiate blooming, you will still have high nitrogen fertilizer being released in the soil. Also the “wetting agent” will give you a soil too acidic, and too wet which will ultimately kill the plant.

Eventually “flushing” can have a possibility of helping if you don’t want to transplant so soon but my best advice is ditch the soil and find a local nursery who can reccomend a good organic microbial soil.

Stay away from miracle gro type products imho

Looks like you’re using a shredded bark mix?
Wood chips would have to degrade into the soil first before transferring anything into the soil below it. When it does the soil will not be acidic enough to ruin the plant unless (possibly) you’re using dyed mulches and bags that are not tested.
Using a shredded PINE bark mix will actually add beneficial nutes back into the soil once it breaks down, a little tilling after the season helps.

I hope this helps.

Could be from the light. I have the 600. I usually get my seedlings started under CFL. Even at 32", it can be a little harsh. Good Luck, just listen to the plant and don't love it too death.

The total lack of understanding how to grow (anything) simply astounds me in so many that come on here and ask for help or answers..

How about you read up on growing? ANYTHING!

Get a house plant, a tropical one. Say an African Violet. Once you can get that A. violet to bloom...You should have no problem growing MJ...

Before you get all huffy about me being "a mean old man"
How about I give you all the MJ growing, reading material you'll need for free?
These are all pdf download files.....Get reading and get ahead of the game!

Now the mean old man has given you a gift.....Go forth and learn......
