Im 3 weeks into flower my buds are looking nice but there not stinking like i thought they would be. How far along should they be till they start to smell? I got hit by a little bit of powdery mildew a while ago, could this be the reason why there not smelly. i used green cure spray and added another fan for more air flow 4 days ago and i dont see much powdery mildew maybe a small spot here and there in the corners of my tent but thats it.

If you got any mildew in your grow room you need to get it out asap if any spores get in to your buds you not gonna be a happy bunny as they will rot from the inside out and you will lose most if not all of your crop take it from someone who found out the hard way

Gotta wait for them to be ready to stink man.
Im 7 weeks into flowering, and my plants are just now getting to the point where I need my carbon filter.
But let me tell you, this is the most amazing sour smell I've smelt in my life... and worth waiting for.
Careful with that powdery mildew, anything you do to stress the plant will make it come back.
You will never get rid of it from this point on, the mildew is always going to be in your plant you just gonna prevent it from coming back.

i have noticed with my crops useing something like sugar daddy or liquid karma helps with the smell. products like those have alot of the amino acids and carbohydrates the plants need to produce the pungent fragrance you want to smell. i run sugar daddy in my setup from day 1 and by week 3 im already smellin em. strains also play a big part in smell.
