Not even 2 weeks in the AeroGarden

My plants in the AeroGarden after a week and 3 days. Tell me what you guys think.

I've got pics of a Misty seed from nirvana growing in the aerogarden. it is just over 5 weeks from dropping the seed in the aerogarden, it took almost a week to sprout up and started flowering 3 weeks from popping the seed in, but you shoulda seen it at 3 weeks, I wish I took a pic then....I think this is the best looking plant I've ever seen in vegitative stage, 2 weeks into flowering....dont know if its male or female yet....

Anyways sorry Siga for tooting my own horn....But I wish you best of luck...

Also more than 2 plants is the aerogarden is going to be difficult to manage and will require much trimming and topping...

I've figured some more things like this out latley...

make sure to keep a light fan blowing on these so the stalks get thicker and stronger.Do a little"abuse" or plant slapping might help.Dont beat them down but occasional slight bend here and there to work the stalks helps

Thanks a lot for the discussion. I am currently new to growing sort of. But i need help with a few things like what week can i separate the plants by gender. Also what week should i start useing my MH lights. Also how much harvest did you guys get out of your AG plants.

Lot of questions.Are you taking them out of the aero garden at some point or ripping the factory light part off and then using mh lights?The MH are best for veg state and hps for flower stage.The plants are big enough to mh them now if you want just keep a good distance for awhile maybe 16-18 inches checking temps.Sex will show 3-7 days into the 12/ 12 flowerin light stage.Yield is an unkown as so many factors can arise. I have seen first time growers on here say they got 6 grams and others got 2 -3 oz per plant.Keep in mind once you go to flower stage your plant height will at least double.So if you veg to 24 inches your plant will get at least 4 feet if not bigger

No i don't plan on taking it out of the AG just detaching it and moving it up. When does the flowering stage come into effect? or do i change it to 12/12 to change it to flowering? Its on 16/8 right now. Thanks a lot!

These are suggestions only... as always, do what you feel is best for your situation.


You could start 12/12 ASAP if you plan on keeping them in the AG. The Aerogarden only has a 1 gallon reservoir. A fully mature plant (8 weeks veg and 8 weeks flower) require atleast a 2.5 gallon reservoir for root space, and that is still small.

I would recomend starting them in the aerogarden and moving them to a veg room under your MH at 2 weeks in. Then at 4-8 weeks old, start flowering *(use an HPS if you can, otherwise the MH will do it)*.

If you flower in the Aerogarden your yield will be poor. The buds will be very light and fluffy and sparse... i would expect 7 gram dry from a plant grown out in the Aerogarden from seed to harvest (with only the Aerogarden lights). You can easily get 10x as much if you flower under your MH in a 5 gallon reservoir bubble bucket.

So me and my buddy where talking about how to Hybrid the AG and find a bucket to add the gallons needed for more harvest and more room for the roots etc. Me and my roommate right now are coming up with a idea right now. Both electricians so im sure we can figure something out.FreePHX show me how you would setup a bubble bucket if you could for me, you seem to know what your talking about. Tell me what you guys think.

Here is what i am using right now...
eBay: 12 plant Hydroponic Grow System DWC 12 at Wholesale (item 280093670435 end time Mar-16-07 20:06:06 PDT)

They start in Aerogarden to sprout from seed til 4 weeks old - then move to DWC in the flower room. Clone 2 weeks later once sexed, and you can have SOG going...

just need a bucket (5 gallon recommended)
an air pump with airstone (optional) on bottom of bucket
light tight lid (with hole)
net pot


the reservoir water level stays about 1-2 inches under the net pots... the air pump blows bubbles from the bottom of the reservoir keeping roots moist in the mist/splash. Also keeps the reservoir from getting stagnant - keeps the water moving. The more bubbles the more air the better...

If you find out how to add more gallons to the AeroGarden... let me know.. I want to grow up to harvest point in the AG.. thanks
