Northern Lights x Big bud Autoflower Grow!

Anyone have any experience or tips for growing this particular strain? This is my first attempt at indoor growing so it is very new to me. Also I don't know a lot about auto flowers so this will be a trial and error run for myself. Any comments, help, or guidance is welcomed with an open mind... I am brand new to this site and would just like to start out by saying I have a lot of respect for anyone out there growing, no matter the amount of experience from the individual (large or small). I also plan to log this grow for personal learning experience. I am 2 weeks in to veg with 7 Northern Lights x Big Bud autos in 1 gal pots. Soil used is Fox Farm "Ocean Forest". Using a 4' 6 bulb T5 (veg). In the room there is exhaust port with a fan for hot air, along with a intake port for cool air and a 160cfm fan. I hav my lights set to 20/4. Thinking I might have a little nute burn from the soil on a few of the babies. Just recently read that the particular soil mix I'm using might be a little to "hot" for seedlings? Any thoughts??? Oh, and I will be posting pics Of this soon to be perpetual grow... soon as I figure out how to upload photos, lol

Here are a couple photos! The NL are 2 weeks old today...CAM00101.jpgCAM00095.jpg I know the power panel isn't pretty but it works, lol. I have already prepared a flowering chamber to move the autos when the time comes. To be honest, I'm not sure when that time is... please excuse me for my lack of experience with autos. This is my first run and it will be trial and error. All my previous experience is with photoperiods outside. This is the start of my perpetual grow and I will try my best to plant(from seed) every 2 weeks. The strains to follow will be G13 Labs Pineapple Express, Dinafem Critical+ 2.0, and Dutch Passion's Think Different

that think different is sick in dwc, i saw a article in skunk auto issue
where they used a 300 watt led panel, dwc and pulled like 360 something grams dry
super impressive imo

Yea, I hear ya smoky! I've seen some sweet harvests with that think diff. That's why I'm going to give it a shot... Trying to stay on the cheaper side this time around, so I'm just sticking with the soil, for now

its strain/pheno specific
i start at preflower, 21 days , 5 nodes which ever comes first
1/4 strength at first if im not familiar with the strain
less is more when it comes to nutes
better off under feeding a bit then burning them

my hps is set at almost 4'
i start my seeds under this and let them grow into it then tie them down when they get close
SEEDLING stage
vegg's aswell
but soil will carry the plant until after preflower
PREFLOWER around 14-21 days / 5 -7 nodes usually
VEG
1/4 str and build up but personally i leave it at 1/4 str im lazy and dont feel like mixing different strengths i just feed the larger ones more often
BLOOM
pretty much same as veg but like to build it up tto 1/2 str or so towards the middle of bloom
pretty simple

I just grew a tester...and I fuckin' loved it. Favourite plant I've grown yet. Beautifully symmetrical, lovely smell, easy to grow and just a pleasant all-rounder. Don't know about topping auto's to be honest; they're nice little plants, and I never liked the idea of hacking them...but it's impressive those who have successfully.
Anywho...NL x BB:

Thanks Already.in.use! Makes me feel better to see the end result of what this strain will look like. Yours looks nice as hell...nice job bro! How much did you harvest off the NL? And I might just wait until I get one run of autos under my belt B4 I decide to top...

Cheers man. It's always nice to see a strain finished. lol shes still drying out at the mo, but at least 2.5 oz...(and that's just growing one out, no super-cropping, LST'ing or DWC - everything just standard; I just can't invest in a bigger set-up at present.) It is a really nice plant to grow out though, and I am certainly doing it again.
Yeah it's all experience dude....suck it n see really is the only way to learn!

I’m subbing up, since I’m growing this strain currently myself.

She started flowering at 5 weeks old and is now 6 weeks old.

They recommend 22 hrs per day but I’ve cut it back to 20 hrs per day since the plant and the pother plants in veg were looking a little tired under 22hours of light.

They look much more chipper on a 20/4 lighting schedule.

I’ll post up a pic if you wish.

Does anyone know if topping the NL x Bid Bud Auto is a good idea and if so, when I should do it?
I don’t know if it was a good idea, but I did, lol at about 3 weeks. I think I was trying to fim it but topped it instead.

Yelp, them thar buds look lovely, what does the whole plant look like?

Can I glue back the piece I hacked off, lol.

It's going to be interesting to compare your method to my hack happy ways

Good job man and I'm more enthusiastic about it now having heard your smoke report.

It was a freebie, came with some seeds that I actually wanted, lol, but I'll take this plant more seriously now and start watching it more closely.

I am excite.

Impressive.

How tall was she, what size pot did you use and how many days was she from popping to chopping?

56 days dude! I grow all mine the same, on a perpetual grow; 15l pots, soil, 400w HPS on 18/6 and it's over 3 feet...I add in epsom salts and calcium to the feed as Biobizz soil is lacking them, and feed with grow & bloom.
Obviously with auto's (which I love), DWC combined with super-cropping and a longer finishing auto (Think Different etc) will always yield more - but financial constraints means I stick to the bare minimum grows now. But I'll be honest 2.5 - 3 oz a plant every fortnight or so suits me fine at present.
I got the NL x BB as a freebie too, but I love that strain and will be growing it from now on.DSCN5406.jpg DSCN5405.jpg

Dude I was taking this plant for granted, since it was a freebie.

I will be looking at this plant in a different light now.

TS I'll post up a couple pics later today.

Mine looks like she could use some fattening up but she's only in her first week of floweing, she will fatten up in due course.
