Northern Lights vs. AK47

I'm having a really hard time deciding between the two. Hell, I may even decide on both at the same time. I'm interested to know your guys experience with growing these strains. Input is appreciated, thanks!!!

I've never grown or smoked AK47, but I've heard good things about it. I enjoy my Lights a lot, but there isn't much of a flavor to them (good or bad). Go with both and tell me how the AK47 grows and smokes.

Both strains are good Johnny but Northern lights was the first skunk I smoked. So I would go for the Northern lights as it reminds me of my first skunk smoking days. Will bring back some good memories from my teenage years. It looks a bit like bird millet the big long buds of the northernlights i used to get lol.

My seeds havent germinated yet the B52 and the Jamaican highgrade that is. I hope they do soon

Ak 47 every day of the week, no contest.

Two different types of highs....AK is a balanced but potent rush of giddiness and euphoria....NL hits you in the head like a 4x4, and can lay you out.
It boils down to personal preferences!
Both strains are quite worthy of a growers attention, IMO!

i'd say they are equaled adversaries; i've had ak47, i have an ak48 mom; absolutely outstanding sativa dom. nl is still in my top five, after everything i've gone through. nl is intoxicating, to the point of flat out narcotic.

i'm not that experianced but if you were to grow bolth at the same time, wouldn't the ak's sativa lengthyness kinda block out the nl? i mean unless you had them sepperated well...

I agree with KP. Both great smokes. I have never grown any but I have smoke ak 47 in Amsterdam and was a great uplifting high. I am getting some Northern lights tonight (thanks to my Brother!) and it has some nice flavor but I like the ak just a little more since it was the first spliff I burned in amsterdam after a red eye flight from canada. My eyes were RED, Well eye I'm blind in my right eye and wear a Pothstetic eye so I only have one red eye. lol I was thinking about getting one bloodshot eye and one clear one lol

I vote for Ak47

i've had a couple batches of outdoor nl and it was some solid but, but nothing spectacular. never grown it but it seems solid.

i did grow a couple ak's last year and they were very strong and yielded well under less than optimal conditions. very strong smoke, and stone.

either way, you're going to end up with some killer bud.

seems like i really can't go wrong either way. so far in my pot smoking career i've been more of an indica man, but seeing as how i shall have a nearly unlimited supply, i was thinking that toking indicas before work might make me not give a shit. hence the interest in sativas. if i grow both, i was thinking about starting the NL a couple of weeks earlier than the AK in order to negate the height difference. either way, i'm gonna grow both

it's been quite some time since i've had some really good nuggs. this project is gonna get me closer to God

Sacrifice one or two branches from your upcoming crop and cross the two strains.

ak and nl have very similar hieght growth patterns. flower both at the same time and you should have a mostly even canopy. hell, nl may even outgrow the ak! she grows long and tall colas, they look like spears

Ok, I got the Northern Light last night Oh its sooo good! Such an oldschool taste and they high is heavy!! I like. I will post a pic of the bud later on

Smoked quite a bit of NL lately.

I agree if done right it can be some what narcotic.

The ak-47 was about the 3rd or 4th sativa for me.

The nl's have I just recently smoked.

I would prefer the ak's myself.

Have you heard of white russian?

Yeah, I have some interest in the white strains, but I hear they are somewhat finicky with their nutrient needs. I love all of this great feedback you guys are giving me. I'm kind of leaning towards both

Yeah what about growing both and crossing them Johnny have u cross bred Skunks before. That would be a nice combo I wonder how it would turn out. If u do manage to get a male seems like it would be the perfect thing to do. Let us know how it goes well grows i mean lol

I don't have experience crossbreeding. At this point, I'm just out for some nice smoke All in due time

well im new again to growing but classic strains are something you always wanted and heard of, but the f1 strains are the ones to get. it's like an old car (classic strains) vs a nice technology filled ferrari (f1 strains). size of plant, taste, color and yeild will be different with classic and f1 strains.

This is like choosing which to bang: Angelina or Pamela. Oh the pain!
