Saw Merlin's post above and figured he was talking about me What's up bro!
I actually never knew the origin of the Grapefruit we had at the shop. I thought it was just a random clone of unknown origin. Big stretchy Sativa with mild grapefruit aroma is what I remember. Merlin is the pheno you found in the beans any better than the clone we had?

Well yup I was talking about you! I could have sworn we had seeds... oh well. Anyhow yea the seeds I got from those are much better. Still stretchy, but very grapefruity in smell and taste. Definatly 90/10 sativa/indica high. Makes you perk right up and get a move on. The nice thing is even though they're stretchy like a sativa (I lollypop them then super crop the crap out of them for an even canopy) their done in 8 weeks! The problem we had there with them was their herm tendencies (hence the seeds I got) but the 2 phenos I have now are pretty solid.

The shot of magic is legit. I love that herb. Super potent long lasting and in your face with aroma and flavor. Next time I have some I see about getting over in you next of the woods.
I bet I could find something along those lines in the DpD, double purple doja, seeds I have. I would have to or it with something g else though dpd by itself is mediocre.

bshdctr we should hook up soon, really want to try that kushdctr...again. eeka shared a j a while back and I was impressed. Flowers were very large for those caliber of flower. Very nice indeed

Got grapefruit comming down this week. I'll put up a few pics. Its supposed to be done tomorrow but those two plants are swearing to me that they want more time.

Merlin those look interesting. More sativa leaning it appears. Aroma is artificial grapefruit or bitter peel? Other? Would love to try that.

The smell is pretty bitter a little chemmy. The aftertaste is definatly grapefruity. And yea very sativa in both high and how they stretch out in flower. Fairly loose buds so kinda needs to be cured right to be tight nugs. But I don't use a top booster late in flower either so I think they could be naturally tightened up.

How is every one in NC since the recent law changes? I have really been enjoying it, I haven't made it down to Denver yet though... I may go at the beginning of March. So how is everything for everyone? How drastically has your guys' lives changed? I changed by throwing down seeds, anyone else??

I did as well. Humboldt Express F2s I made in '09. Going to create a new line of stable breeding purple/pink sweet slightly nutty and the the best mood elevator cannabis can offer. Growing out the fems now ready found the dude. He will be crossed to make f3s and to Double Purple Dojo (Doja) IX. This project should take me roughly 2years to complete, but its a tribute to the wifey.
Sprouting seeds of Sour OG x DpD, and wilm then use desirable male to improve DPD line giving more flavor and needed potency.

Homebrew, Can you tell me about the Dark Magic #2?

Quick dense flowers aroma of spiced berries. Medium high. Decent yield. I felt it was a failure as a hybrid but a great starting point for improving the DpD.
did you get a cut? 7.5 weeks.

Actually yes. thank you. She grows quickly and has many branches. Sativa structure. What is the DPD? Can you give a strain background?
Why a failure? Lacking in the potency or elsewhere?
Those cherries should be a month or so. Had to reveg as last batch had issues the first go around with no roots. Reveg was 2 months.

I am in Lafayette. Always interested in new grower buddies to share information and knowledge with over some beer!

peep! That is great news they are not lost. Thanks for thinking of me as well. DarkMagic is ok in most dept. Just not the flowers I was looking for. Huge yields are possible with her. Dpd, is double purple Doja(dojo, as renamed by Jaws) and old subcool variety from the early 2000s he abandoned as a result of not being able to stabilizing the purple and mediocre effects.
I plan to change the mediocre effect as goal #1 for her.
