NORML is typical

NORMAL mission and policy statements seem to conflict. I went to their site to find an attorney which could help me minimize possible future damage. NORMAL's website and the attorney's websites talk all this bs to help people stay out of trouble, so I called a few attorney's. Guess what, they are not interested in helping people, only themselves to defend you once your arrested. Each one basically said ONLY one thing, don't smoke pot. Now I've read a lot of pages on NORMAL, about their legal committee, their mission, etc... and not smoking pot is not it. It's funny when I go to NORMAL's website there is even a banner which is displayed at the top of every page with a picture of some local alligator smiling attorney's saying "Fighting for you rights..." I call BS. NORMAL knows this but likes the revenue stream from the alligator smiling attorney's they sell advertising to (as well as all the other advertising bs there). I find NO helpfull information there for me unless I'm arrested. The last attorney I spoke with made me feel like he was going to call the cops on me so it's not likely I'll call anyone else. I found out what I allready had suspected.

From experience if you are ever in legal trouble you're best off to go with an attorney that has proven themselves in the court room, is specialized in the area of drug/marijuana defense, and one that you can trust to look out for your best interests. As far as the cost of an attorney, I wouldn't necessarily go for the most expensive attorney to be found but also never go cheap especially if your freedom depends on your case. I caught a few felonies a while back and the norml affiliated attorney I had retained was able to talk the county attorney into dropping my felonies (poss 2lbs w/ intent, failure to affix drug tax stamp) down to simple misdemeanor possession of mj in a motor vehicle. Granted it was my first offense and specific circumstances to my case made it very iffy for either side where it to go to trial due to probable cause issues and the 4th amendment. My advice is to be smart/safe and know a good attorney in your area to contact in a worse case scenario. Also it is best to talk in person with your attorney. I was told that attorney/client privilege does not apply to email. Hope this helps. Be safe

Only information I've ever found about what I'm talking about, I found in High Times recently. Something like: if you have kids be sure and get a guardian agreement. The attorney's I spoke with referred to by NORMAL's site should have had some insight into this and a host of other subjects I can think of that would be helpful, but they weren't. They only said " don't smoke pot". Do you see the hypocrisy? If not go to their website and check it out if your not in jail.

Be sure and clear your cookies if you go to their website, they have a ton of advertising. Oh, one of the cookies they leave on your computer is justice.gov (the justice dept.) for real!

you seem naive about Lawyers, they went into that profession to make money, just like the guy growing you pot does. that's life, the NORML lawyers that advertise in 420radio.org are the same way, I checked out one of their web sites for here in the Los Angeles area, and they were quoting the HS11357 laws (the old laws) that say you're pretty much fucked if caught, I panicked, posted questions in here, then read some more, and found out that famous SB420 original law is section HS11362.7 that SUPERCEDES the previous section , I then read further down and found that the second famous law SB215 is HS11362.5 that further defines and clarifies (somewhat) SB420 and talks about the 6 adult plants OR 12 inmature plants AND 6 ounces.

as for cookies, you can set Firefox to ALWAYs be in Private mode , OR you can do the smart thing and downlaod the TOR browser and open a TOR MAIL account and keep your LOCATION completely random showing as being all over the country, EACH time you fore up the browser, oh and don't let the name intimidate you it's Firefox running over SOCKS

Your right, asking an attorney for information to stay out of prison before being arrested is naive. Asking an attorney for information to stay out of prison after being arrested is NORML.
