not really. that was just an attention getter to make everyone here that keeps it real stop by to straighten that shit out. i recommended it in this thread https://www.rollitup.org/seed-strain-reviews/767386-disregarding-quality-2.html as it's pretty much universally regarded as about the best beginner/low odor/cash cropper strain someone could start with, but this troll loser wants to make an issue about it, so i'm seeking some vengeance making them look like the lying fool that they are

i've read up a lot on NL#5. i wouldn't ever grow it myself as i have no use for indicas, but know it as a good recommendation all around for anyone looking for a no fuss potent strain that doesn't stink and that yields nicely.

am i lying?
let's stick to FACTS up in here, shall we?

You are right.
The problem is the next step. The next question is, where do I get good northern lights #5 at...
The people who recommend NL#5 are generally referring to the NL that was popular in the 90's, that doesn't seem to truly exist anymore.

So, while the answer you give is an easy 'go-to' answer it doesn't really answer the question.

Crazy Hazy is trolling, poorly might I add. Really this thread should be deleted as its just attention seeking spam

I grew out some NL#5 back in '86-'87 along with G13 and
Skunk#1. All Skunk#1 no matter who grew it and how it was grown
was no where near as good as Skunk pre '83.
Two completely different strains.

I actually used Skunk as an example in my original post, then erased it since I felt I was rambling, but yeah, perfect example.

: Northern Lights #5Grade: A
Type: Indica Dominant Hybrid/Popular High Yield Strain
Looks: A) You cannot mistake Northern Light strains with any other:D
Smell: A) Rich, Sweet, Pine
Taste: A+) Anyone who has smoked Northern Lights knows just HOW distinct this taste is. Reminds me of camping!
Effects: A) #5 as opposed to Northern Lights was not the sedative monster I thought it would be; it was a quite functional high. Very clear, euphoric and creative thoughts accompanied by a nice body high that did not hinder my abilities to carry out every day tasks.
Potency: A-) Felt with in 5-10 seconds after exhale. Comes on strong and winds down slowly. 3 to 4hrs

NL5 is a clone only...

I would not consider NL "A" quality, more a solid "B" ... NL lacks in flavor and punch (compared too modern indicas)

Northern lights (#1,2,5) is a very useful tool for breeding IMO, but nothing to brag about as a stand alone strain.

Definitely more a solid B and from what I remember NL#5 is the first and original
then watered down weaker #1 & #2 came out 1-2 years after #5 and were knock offs of the original #5.
Correct me if I'm wrong I'm just going off memory.

I grew NL#5 from BCSC that I got from Marc Emery around 1999-2000. It was my first strain NL#5 and White Widow from Greenhouse seeds that somebody brought back from Cannabis Cup for me. The NL5 finished great and was easy to clone. Had a menthol taste with some sweet pine to it. High was sorta short then stoney buzz. The White widow was better High and longer lasting with not as good of a taste, just more bland but still good. NL5 smelled more then the WW but we didnt have Carbon filters back then and I dont remember it smelling up the house, both were low odor. I checked out years later Joey Weeds NL and few of his NL crosses and non were as good as the NL5.

Sorry, I thought people were interesting in the REAL NL5, not some knock-off single seed scam.

The NL5 that Neville made popular in the late 80's is a clone only....

BCSC probably had the best/closest to the original in seed form... Then more recently Bodhi's version using both the clone only x BCSC.

Northern Lights #5 was a clone only. It was the fifth seed plant grown in europe from indian jim's stock. Before tsd took a dump, classic seeds had original Indian Jim Northern Light beans. Sensi seeds is Nl1, Nl2 and Nl5 backcrossed off of an afghani. Lot's of talk about Nl5 but who knows who really had clones from the original.

I like Northern Lights. The taste is not that weak, it's just not pungent. Reminds me of old hash that was water cured.

wow......most who reply negatively about Northern Lights #1 or #5, either had a bad representation, or didnt grow the real ones, or dont know how to grow, or use chemical ferts instead of organics.

This strain, with proper representation and growing techniques, is one of the most powerful strains in exsistance!!!!
It doesnt have a weak odor, it has a very nice pungent fruity odor. And the flavor is exquisite! From the skunky hashy ultra potent nl#1, to the euphoric, happy relaxed good feeling and very potent piney, fruity, skunky, hashy nl#5.
Anyone from Cali and Seattle that are from the older days will remember this gem of gems!!
Why do you think its been used in most breeding projects, still sought after, and won multiple cups???!!!??? Hello!!! It is, was, one of the best strains ever!! More potent than kushs.....
Flavor, potency, smell, bag appeal, and mega quality type of highs......a B grade is not close to what it should be....more like A++++

Implying that plants grown with chem nutes are lacking, really shows how inexperienced you are. That's one of the oldest urban myths of growing. NL5 an A++++ strain? More potent than kushes (I assume you're talking OGs and not landrace)? Not even bro. Are you hazey grapes' indica loving twin?

This is the point, you refer to "the older days"...

Where can you get grade A Northern Lights #5 in seed form now?

Someone said Peakseeds.

All I can say "where to get the best NL" post comes up all the time and there is never a consolidated set of opinions.

Most people report disappointment from most seed breeders. So yeah, if one of you guys with the connection wants to pass out some clones of the original NL #5, sign me up to receive one.
