Yeah i've also heard it is a bit finnicky on the nutes. Ive got a little NLxBB going organically at the moment and apparently they dont like heaps of nutes either. Well, her soil mix is 1/3 perlite, 1/3 cow manure and 1/3 compost and i feed her once a week with organic nutes and she absolutely loves it! I think you just need to read the plant, start off very weak and build her up! You'll be good man, cant wait to see it!

No good to hear about the yield on the deadbody too man, but glad it was dank shit :D

I've seen lots of growers running that NLxBB heard its nice smoke but not as big of yields as you'd imagine. I like the concept of water only, if my soil runs out of juice I feed the soil not the plant. :) Happy soil is the key to happy plants, I learned that early on in the game, started off outdoors. If the plant is saying its hungry I feed it kelp and or fish hydrolysate depending on the symptoms.

Also what can make plants flourish more than anything is having actual soil (crushed rocks) in your mix. I'm using some shit from the grow store that is basically like micronized Azomite, its a rock powder with all kinds of micronutrients in it. I add 1 cup per cubic foot and it serves for more than just micronutrients. You can use basalt rock dust or glacial rock dust with the same or better results, the point of the having rock dust is it provides a home for fungi and bacteria to stick to and minerals from them to pull from to feed directly to your roots.

The key to a healthy living soil is having a good humus source, good compost, good earthworm castings or a mix of the two make the difference between a good soil and a bad one. Even if you use all the amendments, without a good humus source such as earthworm castings or compost your soil will fail.

Yeah dude, ive run it a few times and it is excellent smoke but i didnt get as much as i did off the BBxskunk i ran at the same time! The quality of smoke more than makes up for it though!

Totally agree about the soil mate, it is volcanoes and wind processes that have created the ideal growing conditions in the wild for them! Its amazing how many minerals are in soils and rock, which can be used wholely to give plants nutrition :) sounds like you got your soil chimed in dude, cant wait to see the results :D

I've noticed that plants that tend to produce bigger yields sacrifice potency, the most potent blends I've tried were all low yielding. My bro who's grown both of these strains before tells me that the Tahoe is a bigger yield but its not as high of quality as Deep Sleep. bongsmilie

Deep Sleep #1 in my custom Coco blend. :blsmoke:

Deep Sleep #2 in amended Roots Organic. I think the Coco one is doing better. :bigjoint:

Going to veg my other Tahoe OG until it grows another 2" then I'm putting it in a tomato cage, I want it to stretch up to the tomato cages.

I dunno man, ive grown some massive plants that have been more potent than smaller ones of similar strains. Its all in genetic make up hey :)

For sure, I'm mainly talking about OG's compared to other strains, they don't create massive yields but make up for it by producing good quality. I'm sure there are productive strains that are good still, but its not an easy to get phenotype from seed in my limited experience. I know what ya mean though some strains just suck, not potent and not productive.

Crazy thing about those plants is they are pretty much water only. The only supplement I feed them with was Kelp this go around. I plan on spraying them down with some homegrown organic aloe vera I got soon.

What you do is fillet the sap out of the aloe vera, and dissolve in a quart of water by shaking it up vigorously until the water appears to be foaming. You take this spray and drench the leafs and soil with it. It stimulates the root system and contains all kinds of beneficial hormones that help increase the plants natural resistance to pests and pathogens. I like to mix this spray with some kelp extract, highly diluted of course.

It will decrease the distance between the nodes because the kelp contains organic forms of plant growth regulators, which unlike their chemical counterparts are completely safe for consumption. I eat seaweed every once in awhile because I has beneficial nutrients you can't get from the soil, only found in the sea.

Made some dry ice Co2 extract, out of those Deep Sleep trimmings. Its some top notch shit, very long lasting hard hitting high. This is the results:

This was from some of my previous plants, didn't take long before it turned green.

This is the video I followed to make it.
