noob question!

this is a real newbie question, but i was wondering if there are specific nutrients to give to your plants. basically are there certain types that NEED to be given to plants. Is there a chart or something to go by. I am going to the garden store this week to pick up some stuff for my first grow but im confused. Can i tell the person at the store that im growing "tomatos" or something so he can direct me to the correct type, because i dont want to raise suspicion, and i def dont want to tell them what im actually growing. I've looked online and watched a bunch of videos, but nobody specifies what to actually get. There's so much stuff out there on the market i dont even know where to start. Is there a kit or pack i can buy? I dont want to run around like an idiot not knowing what to get. Im growing 6 plants in soil under a 400 watt mh/hps switchable system. Please help! Thanks

Fox Farm is good, I prefer Advanced Nutrients 2 part grow and bloom myself. Make sure you are mixing the nutes into the water first and have a PPM meter so you actually know how much nutes you are putting in. Then just water the soil with the nute mixture.

these guys are having a sale on AN.

AN is good, low on nitrogen, i like sugar peak sweet and heavy, good nutes and organic too, only bad thing is that the PH jumps around, thats where my automatic ph adjuster comes in handy

nothing wrong with general hydroponics nutrients either. its all preference. learn how to ph and youll be fine.

exactly, or have an adjuster do it for you so all you have to do is change water and watch grow OH YEAH!

AN is low on nitrogen? Where do you get that? Advanced Nutrients is a company, not a fertilizer. Some of their products are indeed low in nitrogen. Some have no nitrogen at all. Others are pretty high in nitrogen.

Different products have different ingredients for different applications.

You're right about it being good stuff, though. I haven't tried all their products, but what I've come across so far has been great.

I love FF. Grow Big and Big Bloom for veg and Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom with Open Sesame/Beastie Bloomz/Cha-Ching for flowering. It has been very good to me and easy. Just don't over do it. Nute burn is very common, and not terrrible, but it will be a stunt and frustrating.

Good luck!
