How's it people. Hey can anyone help with making my carbon filter fan quieter? It sounds like a jet plane even when it's on low (I have a controller) And I need it to be quiet quiet quiet. Any ideas would be much appreciated thanks

If you go on the search function you can find tonnes of DIY tutorials for silencer boxes.
Other things to try-
Hanging your fan with bungee cables to reduce vibration helps,
Use acoustic ducting which reduces the whooshing noise (can also diy a silencer for Ducting)

There’s probably loads more you can do but the search function is your friend.

Unfortunately When you grow using HID or powerful LED inline fans are a must and as such they make noise.

to create a completely silent grow requires what I’ve done.

my room is contained behind a false wall so I have a 10ft x 4ft corridor down to my growing walk in closet.

by doing this and containing the grow area behind this wall it’s completely silent.

That’s the dream right there. Unfortunately most of us can’t dedicate large portions of our living space to it.
This is right though, you’ll only ever get it so quiet. You will always have some noise unfortunately unless you’re willing to do all ^^^^^^^ that stuff.

Benefits of having a 10ft x 16ft main bedroom that had a walk in closet at the end lol.

i had the same issue, mine is much better now ive included the below:
  • Insulated ducting
  • built cardboard box around fan, seal gaps with duct tape
  • duct tape all connections
  • add a silencer to the end of your fan
I can run my fan at 100% now and can barly hear anything, the main noise issue now are the circulating fans within my grow tent but they arent too loud so i can deal with that.
