Node gap issue. Crazy stretch. Wtf.

Not sure if my light has too much red light or not, or maybe the fox farms nutes made my auto go crazy, but something caused a massive stretch. This is my first auto grow, simple closet grow because my photos are outdoor, so I wanted to mess around since a buddy threw me a couple seeds. What causes such a crazy stretch? He said it's a blue mystic from Nirvana, even after some LST, it recently just took off on me. I know they stretch more when flowering, but this shit is just crazy. Looks like I'll be settling for some popcorn buds when it's done, eh? Or is there a chance these may be decent?

What kind of light do you have? How far above the canopy? Did you use this light straight from seed?

Red light, and weak light, will cause stretch in veg, you seem to be flowering now - how many weeks are you at?

I'm using a 250w bloomspect LED. Light is 18 inches above the canopy. It didn't stretch much during veg, so I assumed this was just the flowering stretch. It's been in Flower for 10 days. I did some LST to keep the canopy even, but only a couple branches took off. Those 2 that stretched like crazy, have a crazy node space, but the rest of the plant has 1inch node space. I can't figure out why only 2 branches did this. Yes, this is from seed. But for an auto, this plant is really tall.

I don't think they're too far apart, but someone in another forum said my stretch won't allow for good sized buds. I was just trying to get some more opinions.

don't worry about it, those buds look healthy, stretching worries are overrated, stretching doesn't matter during flowering, veggie, maybe, I'm just assuming here, so don't kill me ;)

Yeah man, massive stretch during the first week of flower just kinda caught me off guard. I think all is well, I just like other opinions. Especially since bud sites are 1 to 1.5 inches apart, I see no reason for concern. This is my first auto grow, so I'm attempting to do the best I can with a finicky plant. I'm just keeping her healthy. Thanks for the input bro.

I just ran a gelato auto like that. It was a tall auto that looked just like that. The buds will grow longer and fill the stem more. I think you'll be alright.
Damn, nice. What was your yield off that one? Some of my bud sites are less than 2 inches apart, only a couple stalks have big gaps. I appreciate the comment, I was looking for some opinions. I definitely don't feel so concerned about the spacing now. That gelato looks dank as hell, nice job.

Thank you. I got a little over 2ozs off that lady. She is a stinky girl. Very nice. She just took off like crazy when it started flowering. Nothing I could do to tame her lol.

I ran a bruce banner and a zkittlez in that run as well. The bruce banner smells like lemon pie and the zkittlez smells like candy. The gelato smelled peppery till chopped. Now it smells fruity. Skittlez on the left, banner in the middle

Hopefully they do not get too tall for your space. I've done it.

During the 2-3 weeks after flip, keeping night temps close to day temps can help to reduce stretch.

I have my 400hps light about 12 inches from the top of the plants, they don't seem to bother, in fact they love it. As long as the fan is blowing near the light, plants will not over heat.

Keep you night temps the same or even warmer to avoid your stretch Up to week 4 of flower. , I learned the hard way also. You will still get nice buds. Who cares if they all grow together. Less chance for PM this way but they do look nice stacked up on one another. All a bigger bud is is little buds stacked together. They all have a stem attached.
