I have quite a bit of work experience when it comes to hands on labor however I am looking for something more substantial. I'm getting ready to go back to school and finish my Biochemistry degree which will obviously open more possibilities, but in the mean time could you guys bounce some ideas around. I really want to avoid the restaurant, pizza delivery, construction, route..

My philosophy concerning finding a job that suits you is (and for pretty much everything else) stop being a pussy and go out there and start looking, talking with people, etc, and you will eventually find what you're looking for.........but for now just looking for some creative outlooks.

Many thanks!!

Depends on what your idea of substantial is.
Best course of action is always the path of least resistance so aim for a job doing something you wont hate.

I got the coolest just above minimum wage job ever. I get to smoke cigarettes whenever I want; no waiting for break time. i get to smoke smoke whenever I want as long as I'm cautious about it. I don't have anybody checking on me throughout my shift. I can show up anytime between 330pm and 3am. As long as I work at least 4 hours m-f I'm good. I can put in up to 40 a week any days of the week as long as i'm there m-f. The only crappy thing about my job is that I'm a janitor. Mostly office stuff so it ain't too bad.

Its hard to get a real job if your working around a school schedule. Deliver pizza, its the best job i ever had. Free food, flexible schedule, just drive around listening to music. Enjoy it while you can because once you get the biochemistry job youll get sick of it after about 5 years, then youll have another 30 years of the same shit to look forward to before you can retire.

Or talk to your teacher see if there are any paying internships or starting out positions in the industry. Many companies go to schools to look for new employees and some teachers will have a lot of connections with relevant companies.

I drive around giant fiberglass swimming pools all day, get to smoke eat drink in the vehicle, listen to cd's, sit around talking to people during delays, and get pilot vehicles to keep all the little ones away from me. Paid by the hour with penalties and a daily travel allowance

Go work on the oil field, there are alot of jobs that dont require a background. Wind turbines, the city, ups, water testers. All pay good

Oh I would love that! Especially for the pay!
@PERRY, what about a phloebotomist position? In my area there are a lot of positions that require no experience and paid training. They start a few bucks above minimum and have bennies.
